I have been working at Vida Vacations full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My experience with Vida Vacations has been very positive. Beginning with the application and hiring process. I applied online and was contacted by Josh within a short time. I was asked to do the PI test as well. I was traveling to PV in April so made arrangements to meet with Josh for an Interview. My meeting was great. Met Josh, Jeff and Natasha. Everything was explained clearly about the next steps in the process....

    Cons

I find that there is a communication error sometimes when it comes to what we are getting paid and difficult to find those answers.

    Advice to Management

Read the PI tests of your prospective team members.

I have been working at Vida Vacations full-time

    Pros

The training that is provided at Vidanta is second to none. They also make you feel like part of the family right off the hop and it is very engaging to catch one’s interest upon making the move to another country. Everything this company does is first class.

    Cons

Commision sales so you need to be motivated.

    Advice to Management

Honestly I spent a good part of my career working for Mercedes-Benz as well as Lexus and have my degree in education from the University of Alberta. This is by far some of the best training I have ever received in my life, Patrick is one of a kind and Kevin is pretty darn awesome as well. From start to finish the hiring process is easy, straightforward and fair. Josh who is the initial person that you will talk to you...

I have been working at Vida Vacations full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Have just finished the training academy and was very impressed not just with the training which i believe gives a great foundation for getting out there on tours but also with the integrity of the company. This industry gets a a bad reputation for not being honest and saying whatever it takes to get a deal signed. Vidanta does not tolerate that and everything we are selling is backed up in writing. Vidanta is growing...

    Cons

They do make it that you have very little to pay out for by providing accommodation and transportation to and from work for the first 90 day but make sure you have enough money to give you time to get comfortable in your new role

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Vida Vacations full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

A bit of information before stating the pros of the company: This is a sales role selling timeshare. It's been re-named a PRC (Private Residence Club), but it basically means the same thing. This review is written based on an experience of working at the Vidanta resort in Riviera Maya. A lot of managers are American and Mexico is close to America so the culture if overall very Wolf of Wall Street. In the morning,...

    Cons

BORING Waiting around for tours is boring, there’s nothing to do. Once there’s no more tours and workers are sent to just wait with nothing to do, it’s boring. Picture having to sit there for up to 12 hours sometimes, conversation can’t cover that much boredom unfortunately. NO SALARY Unless employees progress to a supervisor or managerial role, which takes a couple of years usually, there is no salary. People...

    Advice to Management

BASIC SALARY AND BETTER COMMISSION Get with the times and pay workers a basic salary which is enough to live on. Use minimum wage guidelines from other countries if unsure. Also, make commission a better rate. This is basically daylight robbery. PROCESS FOREIGN WORKERS VISAS BEFORE THEY COME TO MEXICO AND DON’T MAKE THEM ILLEGAL This point pretty much speaks for itself. FREE FOOD AND DRINK Employees should...
