I have been working at Vidyo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Vidyo is a great place to work at. Fast pace, rapidly changing, always looking to improve and be the best out there. Challenging projects with top tier clients, big logos that trust Vidyo to deliver the best video and audio experience out there. Solid SKD and APIs that can enable every workflow. New products and services are being introduced with great focus on managed service, simplicity and easy-of-use.
The customer is at the center of every project, product or service offered by Vidyo.

    Cons

Fast pace means hard work. Vidyo is looking for talent that is able to figure out difficult problems and be part of a team that pushes the company forward to dominant the market. If you are not into hard work and challenges, find something else..

    Advice to Management

Keep leading with focus and execution.

    Pros

Place was a great way to learn and grow working in the tech industry. Corporate values but Startup structure and environment. They try to keep you as happy as possible with their work environment. I had no problems with any HR or management, they were all extremely helpful.

    - Management was great! They were very understanding and always willing to listen to any concerns or grievances.
    - Had a very startup feel to the structure and environment -- could wear casual clothing in the office, catered lunches weekly, and multiple break rooms stacked with food and beverages.
    - Good benefits, 401k, and even stock options

    Cons

    - It was quite a lot of work on a daily basis but that's expected with a startup that has a lot of high end enterprise level clients.

I worked at Vidyo (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Free healthcare, free food and drinks in the kitchen, parking spots, happy hour on Thursdays, relaxed dress code, foos ball table

    Cons

Complete lack of vision, micromanaged by thoughtless unqualified managers, jump through hoops to work from home even though that is one of the reasons we sell the software to customers, always reactive never proactive.

    Advice to Management

Drop your egos. Trusting your employees will get you a lot further. Pick a direction and actually stick with it.

Benefits are very competitive, and completely free to the employees
Everyone who works at Vidyo is extremely bright, it's great working around such talented people every day

    Cons

Lack of recognition, managers and senior management tend to reward excellence with more work instead of gratitude

I have been working at Vidyo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Vidyo's technology has potential to dominate many more vertical markets. Recently launched a cloud product.

New products on the horizon with a distinctly different vision than the current

    Management is responsive

Lots of updated tools being infused internally to improve efficiency. Working with the latest software/companies in the industry.

    Good healthcare benefits

Most colleagues are easy to work with

Cohesiveness between different departments is improving

Some management positions have changed and is breathing new life/culture into the company. We need "can do" and customer-centric individuals. Leave the jaded ones behind. You can't compete with Silicon Valley based companies with an old school attitude.

I see a very genuine effort to improve the work culture and employee appreciation.

    Cons

The vision and/or execution is missing at times. For example, when you envision a certain UX design, it should be customer-centric. Intuitiveness and high quality are keys to success.

Lots of organizational changes and turnover recently. But this transition is needed to be more agile as a company on a whole.

There is still a lingering need for creating processes within processes.

It can be a sink or swim environment at times. That can be good or bad depending on the type of individual.

    Advice to Management

Need to focus on several key differentiators in terms of product. Drive those home with all the resources we have and move to the next.

Some individuals appear to be overworked. Not sure if that's being noticed.

Remove the top half of the cubicles. There is no benefit to having a 6 ft wall on 3 sides. Maybe that will improve communication.

Foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the company. Using the latest industry tools can only take it so far.
