I have been working at Vidyo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Vidyo team is friendly, bright, interactive, and collaborative.
People are always inclusive, and the overall working environment is enjoyable and positive.

    Cons

Management could be more transparent. There are highs and of course, lows, but having said that I think overall the company is headed in a good direction and is really building a team that is cohesive with strong players.

I worked at Vidyo full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They try to have a very friendly environment.
    End of quarter events
A Kitchen full of all kinds of food and snacks.
    Top management was great

    Cons

At the beginning i had great impressions. My department had a good environment until i got hired full time after almost a year.
Then i started to see how my boss was. He always show the higher bosses how good we were doing but had no clue what was hapenning on the floor. Very good person but professionally he was the worst boss i ever had. Plus the smoking break was way too much. If you don't smoke you can't have a break like them.
Be ready to stay at your department for a long time. They preferred to hire new people instead of promote the ones there

    Advice to Management

Keep your eyes to the department managers. Maybe they show you one thing but what really happen on the floor can be different.

    I worked at Vidyo full-time

    Pros

Flexibility to work from home at times, quarterly bonus

    Cons

poor communication, flawed leadership & strategy. Company which promotes nepotism more than talent. no career growth opportunity. Company lacks vision, people at bottom of pyramid are penalized with long strenuous hours because of flawed decisions made by higher management. Very poor compensation for the long hours expected.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear vision & strategy & accordingly get people onboard. Promote talented people if you envision to achieve your goals

I have been working at Vidyo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great technology, relevant customers/logos, quite focused on innovation, incredible new management team, the place just went through a year of necessary changes to become a real global cloud/software company with a solid strategy, strong on verticals such as healthcare, finance and federal.

    Cons

Top logos also mean challenging customers, so expect to work hard and long hours when needed. Long commute if you live in NYC as the HQ office is located in NJ. It can be really stressful as the video industry has a lot of big competitors.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring young professionals that are more suitable for the new strategy/structure of Vidyo, and continue to focus on a market and portafolio instead of saying yes to every customer idea.

    Pros

I worked for 4.5 years at Vidyo. Cutting edge technology. Fantastic people. Challenging and interesting technology. You will not get bored. Fun environment.

    Cons

Too much in the box thinking by the management. Company is stuck with the year 2005 technology stack. Not too much forward thinking.

    Advice to Management

Use all brains in the company not just a few trusted soles. Take advantage of the 2016 technology.
