I have been working at Viega full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has been in business for 118 years, in the U.S. since 1999. Great stability. They recently moved their U.S. headquarters from Wichita, Kansas to Colorado.

Great opportunity to make a positive difference in a growing company. The work pace is quick and can be confusing at times, however, to be successful you need to have a flexible work approach and a go-getter attitude.

The culture is very family friendly, work-life balance is important. The company closes all U.S. locations during the week between Christmas and New Year's - all employees are paid in full! They also involve families in many activities throughout the year.

    Cons

    Can feel chaotic at times.

    Advice to Management

More open communication so employees feel progress is being made.

    I worked at Viega full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, nice attempts at a fun atmosphere, some departments allow flexible schedules.

    Cons

Viega has grown quickly, however with their corporate move, there was an incredibly high turnover rate due to the low compensation and trying to replace 70% of the company's corporate office personnel in a matter of months. This has led to incomplete training, a lack of relationship with their clients, and a disconnect in the departments' management. No body seemed to take responsibility for anything if any balls got dropped. Due to the relatively small size of the company, there is not room for advancement or growth within the company. While I enjoyed my time at Viega, ultimately I chose to part ways with a company that was overly stressful and not going to benefit my personal career goals.

    Advice to Management

Compensate employees at a rate of pay for the level of business that you're wanting to be at - not based on where you're moving away from.
Practice personal and corporate responsibility - Develop a business model that allows for cohesion between the different departments within your company, and empower your employees to fix issues rather than earmark them for resolution at a later date by someone "with authority."

I have been working at Viega full-time

    Pros

Outstanding benefits with being a German based company.

    Cons

No loyalty to it's employees except the ones they so choose. Extremely inconsistent and doesn't follow the core values and processes supposed to be in place. Upper Management is lacking and weak in not knowing how to manage and be effective. Needs to work on valuing its employees. Turnover is high!

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your employees are saying and evaluate why so many are leaving the company. It's one thing to say and act like you are going to do something about the issues currently going on and another to show actions that you mean it. You have a lot of work to build trust and loyalty in your colleagues if you ever desire to have that image.

I have been working at Viega full-time

    Pros

Benefits are fantastic. Pay is good. Company manufactures fantastic products. Some great people work here too, and that's what helps most people stay sane.

    Cons

Company culture is pretty terrible. Morale is low, turnover is high. Senior management is selfish and greedy. CEO relocated company to CO from KS and things have declined quickly since then. Half of the executive team is brand new and is completely out of touch. Policies and procedures are not consistently followed and issues are constantly arising because of it. Many employee who relocated are under contract but have countdowns until they can get out. There are some good managers here and there, and that is the saving grace for some employees, but unfortunately good managers can only do so much when senior leadership has a different agenda. The only way to get anywhere at Viega is to get in with the right people. There is no value placed on tenure or track record. They are more interested in years of experience and how much you can talk yourself up.

    Advice to Management

I don't believe the company will be very successful moving forward with current management. If Germany wants to grow the Viega business in the U.S. they should fire half the U.S. executive team and clean house throughout.
