I worked at VillageCare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Salary and work from home

    Cons

Workflow changes weekly poor management, unrealistic caseloads 150, too many chiefs not enough Indians, biweekly metrics published for all too see, everyone stressed out or switching departments from case management because it’s too much or just quitting

    Advice to Management

Lower caseloads, hire managers with management experience that can manage people better and are not rude.

I have been working at VillageCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work from home, except when called in to monthly meetings or other day long meetings.

    Cons

Workflow changes constantly, no clear communication. Everything falls to the care manager to fix, resolve, clean up, follow up from other departments. Supervisors constantly emailing with "reminders" to do daily tasks we already know we need to do. Caseloads constantly going up; now being told we will be doing home visits (case loads will not be reduced and biweekly member call "quotas" still need to be met). Employees not respected or heard. Management makes constant changes to workflow with no input from the people who actually do the work. Quantity over quality. Most care managers work after hours to catch up with work due to constant interruptions and high caseloads.

    Advice to Management

    None, they don't care.

    Pros

You work from home, nothing else

    Cons

Case loads are going up to 150, new directors are slave drivers... They keep adding more work to our job description, including training of new employees in NYC office, visiting members in the field, when we were hired for just a telephonic at home position, the work is unmanageable, yet they want 100% compliance on every documentation, please stay away

    Advice to Management

None, trust me they dont care

    Pros

There aren't any. This is a rough place to work. Very unorganized and no one is willing to help and assist. I cautiously advise you to look into things before accepting an opportunity here. Many changes, and the consultants they have are not good! Borderline incompetent consultants who are pointing fingers. They should actually have the staff look for and advice on solutions. This place is a joke.

    Cons

Too many to explain. No one is willing to help each other. Nothing but finger pointing and peopling vying for power. So many good companies and opportunities out there, this is not the place to grow.

    Advice to Management

Clean up the clutter. Incompetent managers. Incompetent consultants. Less talking and more listening to the staff.

    Pros

Office atmosphere is professional but friendly, outstanding member service department, peer care managers are team oriented, benefits and pay are competitive.

    Cons

Caseload is unmanageable, poor work life balance, management not supportive

    Advice to Management

Recommendation is to keep up with staffing and give care managers a case load they can provide quality management to without burning out and then the members suffer.
