    Pros

The only thing that would be a plus is that I have a job, but I not so sure anymore.

    Cons

Viracon has grown to big and everybody is now just a number. Hard work and honesty are now a thing of the past.

    Advice to Management

Please take a class or something! Never ask someone to do something if you cant do it your self. You all need help.

    Pros

Because it is a job and has decent benefits.

    Cons

Lack of respect from management, not enough hours to make ends meet. Glass is more important than the people.

    Advice to Management

Take some classes on how to respect, show appreciation, and how to motivate your employees. The employees are not 5 year old children, so stop treating them this way. Word of mouth is a valuable thing, and Viracon's name is not held very highly.

I have been working at Viracon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice having 4 days off every other week.

    Cons

If you like sweating all day long and running around frantically to pick heavy glass up then this job is for you. I don't see how people can do this job for 20 years.

    Advice to Management

    Get AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

In the old days people were appreciated for what they did, more of a family

    Cons

Now the upper management team is so much smarter than everyone else that they really don't need any input from employees.
The executive team is so disconnected to the point of working a cross purposes. The president does not have the required manufacturing experience to run sucth a place, just a step on his way to further heights.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house

There is no pay raises for work performance.I also think that managment should discipline more.

I worked at Viracon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I liked the St George, UT location
Employees that worked at the plant were great

    Cons

Closed the plant due to market conditions
Managers lacked true leadership qualities. Our interium Plant Manager was a perfect example of this
    401(k) was pretty weak
Pay is really not competitive when looking at other manufacturing sectors

    Advice to Management

    Increase wages
    Develop truely talented leaders

    Pros

Exciting fast paced manufacturing environment. Great products for the marketplace.

    Cons

A culture of don't rock the boat exists here. If the company does not agree with you they just make you gone! I have seen many great people let go from this company.

    Advice to Management

Start to engage with people who have new or different ideas. Empower people to make decisions.

    Pros

Good benefits, great co-workers, who care more about the job than the company gives them credit for.

    Cons

Very poor management. poor planning and organization.

    Advice to Management

Show your people you give a Damn about them.
