I have been working at Virgin Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great people, freedom to innovate

    Cons

Growing rapidly, so dealing with operational issues at the expense of longer term planning.

    Advice to Management

Find a strategy and stick to it

    Pros

There were some capable, pleasant people from the business who were tearing their hair out with frustration at the chaos allowed to reign by absent senior managers. I am talking about the central teams and not the services - the services work very hard.

    Cons

There are also some really nasty managers in the office functions who are protected and allowed to be vile and bullying to those they don't like - I was one of the victims. I worked really hard but two guys took a dislike to me and forced me out.

    Advice to Management

Don't ignore issues of bullying at your Warrington site and don't allow mafias to develop.

I worked at Virgin Care (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very relaxed and great lunchtime facilities, break out areas , good work stations with modern office facilities, can have mini non work related conversations.

    Cons

Management turning blind eyes. They need to realise some people obviously just skive most of the day while leaving the work for the others to do, this seems to be ok if your a 'favourite ' though.

    Advice to Management

Being 'fair' is exactly that to all, ageism policy needs to be re assessed- Team work was not encouraged as some people where left uninformed and kept out of 'Team' meetings. Don't train Managers to be rude and self centered

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Virgin as a company is a very successful company. They respect the diversity of their employees and have an inclusive nature. Overall this makes it a pleasant working environment.

    Cons

Virgin Care is not as recognised to the general public as it should be. This could possibly be because it is in the healthcare sector and does not advertise on TV

    Advice to Management

Management should hold more training sessions to improve customer facing skills in order to be prepared for all situations that could happen.
