    Pros

Tuition reimbursement, LawFit incentive, higher education incentive, great cafeteria, good people to work with and work for. The command staff is very responsive to appointee inputs.

    Cons

Promotions are harder to come by than most places, hours can be pretty stressful if you are not prepared, the new PTO system isn't as good as the old system (CoVB mandated this).

    Pros

Competitive salary, ability to advance, and strong family environment among deputies. Very good health benefits, retirement, lots of paid vacation time. Bilingual pay incentives, college pay incentives, physical fitness pay incentives. Sheriff was a respectable person and I enjoyed working for him.

    Cons

Inmates are not easy to work with as many have severe mental health issues, work hours switch from nights to days every 2 months making it difficult to have a normal home life. Often very understaffed, overworked, and stressful/hectic shifts. Job is physically grueling. Difficult to use vacation time/sick leave due to staffing constraints. Hard to continue specialized training due to staffing constraints.
