I have been working at Virginia Mason full-time for more than 19 years

    Pros

    Pay is competitive. Average benefits

    Cons

Lean to the extreme at times. Leadership interested in metrics and bottom line and squeezing their employees to the point of burn out

    Advice to Management

Respect for people is a joke in my location. Clinic manager talks down to people. Does not really listen.

I worked at Virginia Mason full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

good pay rates for experienced medical assistants

      Cons

very expensive insurance for family's, promises education help expenses but doesn't follow through with you in helping, over works the MA's, threatens getting fired for being sick (despite excused absenses... unless you have approved FMLA paperwork on file), no sympathy from management for things that happen in personal life, horrible doctors that disrespect their MA's and management does nothing about it

      Advice to Management

Treat your MA's with more respect.... we do the most work.

Used to be a team that supported employees and provided the upmost in patient care.

      Cons

Managers are less than qualified to their job, they lie about providing training, HR doesn't care about the employees at all. Don't dare say anything to the HR department you will not have your job almost immediately after contacting them. They boast as a teaching hospital, which is a direct lie. They do not help their employees and do not care about hostile work environments. They do not care if your a new employee,...
