    Pros

    -Interview is non-existent, they will hire any one
    -Work hours are generally flexible and management is willing to work with random schedule changes
    -Opportunities to advance are there.

    Cons

    -They will hire any one. Including those people who don't do anything, don't have an interest in being trained or are just terrible.
    -Work hours are flexible according to the manager's whim. Even if your job title was advertised as having a minimum amount of hours, it can be an issue to get scheduled for those
    -You have to slowly climb up the ladder if you want to advance. Even if you have experience elsewhere, you still go from clerk to assistant supervisor to senior supervisor to floor supervisor. This leads to competent people leaving for other jobs and the people who have somehow managed to outlast everyone else becoming managers. It does not lead to good decisions.
    -Its almost impossible to get fired. You have to do something really special to get fired. Notice how this seems like it should be in the pro category? Its because its frustrating to see people do things that would cause a normal business to discipline the employee not have anything done to them but god forbid the admins look down into textbooks from the 3rd floor and see 3 people waiting to help customers in the same area.

    Advice to Management

    Stop promoting people just because they've been there forever. Listen to your student staff a bit better as they are literally your target audience.

    Pros

    Easy work, very flexible scheduling during school, management are nice and understanding. There are usually no conflicts if you have something come up and cannot work

    Cons

    Outside of the busy season, there is very little work to do. It can be very boring at times and makes you question if it's worth your time.

    Pros

    very well versed exposure to real world job scenario for student . i am working as student supervisor and love every minute i am on the job

    Cons

    i didn't find any cons with the management . i see all the people put extra effort and go an extra mile to satisfy the customer

    Advice to Management

    kindly upgrade the internal software management system . i know there are a few of them already being considered but the need is to implement them faster.

    Pros

    Overall relaxed environment. Great co-workers. Pleasant supervisors as long as you are doing your job.

    Cons

    Many co-workers won't work on special days when employees are need (i.e. football games). Some supervisors are looking for any reasons to get you in trouble so be smart and follow the rules and you'll be fine. Pretty low salary.

    Advice to Management

    Try not to focus so much on getting employees in trouble. Also let them do outside work in there are no customers in their department, sometimes I felt like I was wasting time even though I was getting paid to stand around.

    Increase pay and also try to employ new trends to increase profits and business, margins alone won't make you profits even sales do

    Pros

    Flexible Hours and most of the people working there are going to be students.

    Cons

    Paygrade is kind of low, and they make you work gamedays.

    Pros

    I heard that working at the on-campus bookstore locations is not bad. It is one of the easiest interviews and almost everyone is hired at the beginning of the semester for the "rush shifts". Good job if you have little experience, are okay will minimum wage, and are a freshman or sophomore.

    Cons

    Volume Two bookstore is a terrible place to work. Management is not organized, considerate, or nice at all. You get scheduled to show up at 8 am for a six hour shift and then they send you home at 9 am because it is slow or they scheduled too many people. If you actually want hours, give up and don't work here! They also make you wander around for hours to "straighten up things" when you are scheduled for customer service. The cash office managers (lower level mgmt) are typically employees with two years of basic clerk experience. They can be nice, but it depends on the person. They threaten to fire you if you don't work football games and during big campus events. They also implemented a rule saying that people were not allowed to have multiple jobs, which is a joke because they don't schedule you enough hours for you to live off their paycheck.

    Advice to Management

    Learn how to create a schedule and don't over hire people. Some people apply for a job with the intention of working so don't make them cancel their plans for a weekend, make them arrive early in the morning before the buses run, and then force them to leave and clock out before their shift is supposed to end. Some people actually count on the money they are scheduled to earn and it is rude and an example of poor management when you frequently do not let people finish working the hours they are scheduled.

    Pros

    Outstanding retirement plan and health benefits. They really try to have good relations with students and university departments. It's the kind of job I can leave at 5:00, and not have to worry about until I arrive the following morning.

    Cons

    Senior management distrusts lower management and part-timers, and fosters a culture of looking for things employees are doing wrong, and a "tattling" work culture. Senior managers are nearly always in meetings, yet decisions can't be made without approval from them.

    Advice to Management

    Spend more time out on the sales floor and interacting with customers. Quite a few of our sales associates do far better than senior mangers give them credit for. Find more things staff are doing well, and dial back this "everyone is under surveillance" office culture.

    work with minimal supervision, are able to manage your own projects without someone hanging over your shoulder, flexible scheduling,

    Cons

    the technology you use was a little bit outdated, not much ability to move around (in the office the whole time)

    Advice to Management

    maybe create a larger marketing department with more than one marketing clerk at a time so one person is not in charge of doing every single task
