I have been working at Virtua Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The staff is amazing. Like family. Voorhees building is beautiful and supplies and support are easily available.

    Cons

6 to 1 patient ratio is too much!!! No matter what they promise or report, most days we have a 6 to 1 assignment. PCT ratios ar usually 12 to 1 but often are 24 to 1.

    Advice to Management

Measure acuity and needs of patient and increase RN and PCT staff on floors!!!

I worked at Virtua Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits were pretty good, especially if you already see their doctors. A few people trying to deliver good care.

    Cons

Extremely clickish culture. If you haven't been there forever, your opinion counts for nothing. Very little diversity. No work-life balance; totally a one-way street. No trust in employees. Screwed me out of a week's pay on the way out.

    Advice to Management

    More oversight of managers.

I have been working at Virtua Health (More than a year)

    Pros

Staff are encouraged to stay up beat and friendly to all. Everyone says hello and have a nice day. The cafeteria food is good. Some people have freedom to go in late and leave early, some do not.

    Cons

Staff are encouraged to apologize to patients or their families when they are wrong. This encourages abuse of staff. Limits are not set with drug abusers in that they come back over and over and get their drugs over and over again. New CEO. Watch out for upcoming lay offs.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff rather than take the patients word 100% of the time. Don’t lay us off when you just came on board.

I have been working at Virtua Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A lot of the workers see the problems with upper management. At least we all can come together instead of taking out on one another

    Cons

Managers play favorites. They only advance people they like and write up others they don’t even if they are great workers. The rules apply to some not all. HR will back managers that make racial comments to you.
