I worked at Virtua Health full-time

    Pros

    Everyone drinks the "cool aid"!

    Cons

Everyone "drinks the cool-aid". If you do not, then you are out!! The organizational values sound very good, but they are not effective. The organization is stuck in the past and needs "disruptors" and "innovators" to stimulate change. Unfortunately, the "long standing "status quo"leadership cliques" that exist do not allow "bottom up" innovation. If you want a top-down organization focused on "bottom-line healthcare economics", then Virtua is your company. If you want a company that focuses on empowering employees to stimulate change to improve clinical quality and supports their staff and leaders then keep looking. This is not the organization for you!

    Advice to Management

Getting rid of the "change agents" that are not accepted in the organization will leave you with a bunch of "status quo" leaders with seniority that will be unable to succeed in an ever changing healthcare environment.
