I worked at Visiting Angels full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Clients are fun and a joy to tend to and be around It is very flexible hours. Required to work only 20 hours a month minimum
Can work as much over time as you want

    Cons

I reported a diaper rash because it was chapped and bleeding over the weekend when the normal girls aren't there. They told me that client always gets those which they get red but here and there it was not to this level. I couldn't go out and get cream cause I would have been late for work and penalized all the upper hands said they would prefer to go home. After my shift I had to be the one to go out and buy the cream for her.

They make you watch training videos and take test but only do hands on training once a month or so and you not required to show what you learned after the class.
Multiple clients told me girls pull them up by tugging on their arms and they had sore arms/pulled muscles

    Advice to Management

If someone reports something even a client please check it out.

    Pros

Make your own schedule.management is nice ,there's nothing else to write. you want me to write 20 words when there aren't 20 for me.

    Cons

To many to list here.twenty words for the company conds twenty words for the company cons twenty words for the company cons

    Advice to Management

The management was really nice but I feel like some of these people would be better off hiring a maid or a house keeper a few days a week, house keeping isn't my strong point, caregiving is. Some times they say " light house keeping" it's alot more than that

I have been working at Visiting Angels part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company has a very popular name due to advertising budgets. The core people do make a great impression on possible clients.

    Cons

The core people do not hire people worthy of serving the client. The caregivers that are caring are easily run over by human resources. The very source that should care about humans but doesn't.

    Advice to Management

Put yourself in your clients and employees shoes. Just do it one time and you will change. If I had my own business model, I would take those things into account. I have seen and I know.

I worked at Visiting Angels full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Limited supervision, great clients, good Care Staff

    Cons

Management/Owners need education on professional conduct. Work way too much overtime for base pay. This goes for a Care Manager position

    Advice to Management

Up the salary, if case managers are required to work 24/7, 7 days a week. Because at the end of the day when you total up the amount of time you have put in over the last week and weekend, it comes out to be be less than minimum wage. So don;t let the hourly wage fool you. This is based on the Visiting Angels in Mount Vernon, WA only.

I worked at Visiting Angels full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I can say the compensation for the position was fair. However, I don't think they really could afford the salary I requested.

    Cons

The owners are out of touch with the industry needs. They are behind the times as far as technology so scheduling practices really suffer. The owners are very unprofessional and talk down to the workers. It's a little weird that their office is a living room and den in their home the owner comes down in her bedroom clothes and curlers mid morning and they have a dog that has the run of the house and office space. Because this is a home in a residential area if there is no parking there is just her driveway which only allows for a limited number of cars otherwise you have to park around the corner and walk very far. A little strange and unorthodox for a healthcare agency to say the least. During the interview I didn't even have her attention she was playing with the dog the entire time it was almost comical. They don't have many clients however if you think you have often go without care because they don't have enough caregivers so clients suffer.

    Advice to Management

Integrity goes a long way in this industry. Also I would consider getting an office space so you can have privacy in your home and not subject employees and posible clients to having to see you in your evening wear during the day. Upgrade your health management systems. Invest in Recruiter and a marketer because you can't wear all hats.
