I worked at Visma full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Strong colleagues from whom you can always learn
    - Ability to choose different projects
    - Agile environment
    - Agile way of working in >90% projects

    Cons

    - While working with projects you can still find majority of requirements written in norvegian language
    - If you’re the one from different company who have joined the conference call where rest of stakeholders are from other site - they’ll talk in native language
    - Company doesn’t have culture to run all meetings and keep critical information (requirements, acceptance criteria) in english language

    Advice to Management

    - Visma is international company and all documents/requirements and meetings should be held in english

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Visma full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a high degree of respect and collaboration in Visma among the teams of all sorts. A great spirit and as employee I felt pampered and protected.

    Cons

If you want to develop yourself professionally, you better do it on your own, in Visma you are held on a very narrow niche, you need rights to access areas that are not in your duties.

    Advice to Management

Hire a professional HR management, with real soft skills and aptitudes to manage people on the human part.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Visma full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get a number of work travels during the year, in different cities around Europe, and at Visma office in Oslo. You get to meet a lot of interesting people and learn about different cultures. The work environment doesn't feel stressful and you can learn a lot from your asigned mentor. You get to go to conferences and there are a lot of interesting internal trainings of all sorts of topics. There are a lot of benefits from free fruit to free gym membership to a lot of gym centers in the city.

    Cons

After some time the development process and the technology can feel outdated, and there can be a lot of legacy code to maintain and you can feel that you are not learning new things. There is only one evaluation during the year, and also sometimes salaries fall behind the market.

    Advice to Management

People are in essence, diffent, so stop trying to make everyone equal, there can be a lot of frustrasion when you are involved in a lot more than your coworkers, and it feels like no one notices.
