I have been working at Vista Equity Partners full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone here is smart. Period. You better come with your A Game every day and I love that. The culture is one of development and drive, which, again, I love. My boss is my advocate every day and always tells me like it is. I appreciate his candor and advice and try to emulate his style when managing my own teams.
I have worked for some great companies, but the benefits are Vista are unparalleled. Vista is a place to learn and grow and be happy.

    Cons

If you are not interested in very hard work every single day, probably not a fit.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.

I have been working at Vista Equity Partners full-time

    Pros

    -Opportunity for career advancement
    -Culture of caring
-Passionate, driven and highly intelligent people
    -Extremely successful organization
    -Inspirational leadership
    -Competitive rewards
    -Fast-paced

    Cons

-Typical growing pains - the leadership has done a great job of recognizing where more structure is beneficial to the firm, and hired excellent leaders to help put structure in place without compromising the culture that makes Vista great - change is never easy, though, and of course there are small bumps associated with that.
-Change management - Vista done a good job, but not the best job, communicating the necessity of change, leaving some long-term employees nostalgic for the "good ol' days" where they might be more supportive of change if they understood the "why" behind it
-Work/Life Balance - to be fair, everyone at Vista is well aware that part of being successful in this industry is a willingness to put personal lives aside at times, and employees self-select in or out of this industry with that understanding. Most of the leaders within Vista respect that family/self come first and are very supportive of that, including those at the very top. There are a select few that don't follow that for themselves though, and put Vista first in their own lives, leading them to set the tone that Vista must come first for their reports as well.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work - it's an honor and a privilege to be part of Vista each day

I worked at Vista Equity Partners (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent though uncompetitive salary. Close to public transit. Over the top company holiday party with excessive gift giving to it's employees. The Compliance Team was great to work with. Profitable. HR's leader wears fun bow ties.

    Cons

Money focused without any interest in helping community or giving back. Most employees measure self worth by their assets and financial standings, including the administrative team. No one really looks to further themselves as people or even expand their own roles. The administrative team steps on each other when they feel threatened. HR is also highly unaware of California employment laws being located in the mid west.

    Advice to Management

Start hiring people who are talented in making money but also have some aspect of being humanitarians. Hire more experienced admins to support your executive team.

Not very many cons to working with VCG and the investment team.

    Pros

The executive assistants at Vista are good people and great co-workers and the one positive thing about working there.

    Cons

If you enjoy being micro-managed and having to ask permission for anything than this is the place for you! Do not expect management to have your back.

    Pros

an yearly vacation trip, that is about it, that you get good from the company, unless you are a finance guy.

    Cons

No appreciation for the IT department.
Looked upon as janitors, doing the dirty work, while the business people gifted cars for their good work.,

    Advice to Management

Should treat each employee equally, especially the IT department, so they can continue to be the backbone of the organization.
