I worked at Vistage Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great team atmosphere, management led by example and were always open to new ideas. There were a lot of opportunities to move between departments and up the ladder.

    Cons

It is a corporate company, and politics got in the way more than once.

    Advice to Management

Set politics aside when considering projects

I worked at Vistage Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Fabulous group of bright entrepreneurs and leaders. Professional development a priority. Blue chip brand opened doors for new relationship-building.

    Cons

Needed more access to executive management when new programs and initiatives were being considered and rolled-out. More local market funding of sales and marketing initiatives.

    Advice to Management

Continue to support sales professionals in the regions with local marketing budgets and decision-making. Find ways to tell a more compelling story to differentiate Vistage from the many copy-cats which has sprung up in the last 10 years.

    Pros

Good organization with a sound business model and support for their program. They reinvest money on keeping current with best practices for the members.

    Cons

They are trying to expand beyond the market potential in many regions. The current chairs do not help the new chairs grow because they see them as competitors rather then co-workers. The average age of chairs will continue to grow older.

    Advice to Management

For new blood to succeed they need to create an environment where the existing chairs get a benefit from supporting a new chair launch.

I worked at Vistage Worldwide full-time

    Pros

The people, the perks, most of the culture. The rest of your experience will really depend on who you are working for.

    Cons

Failure to stick with the same goals and vision. The message changed several times when I was there. It was hard for some people to commit to any one thing because the company seemed to have an identity crisis.

    Advice to Management

I know most of you care, but there were some there that clearly didn't. I was lucky and I would grade my overall experience as very positive but a lot of people came and went in my tenure. Your experience at Vistage should not depend on who you report to. Everyone should be treated the same.
