I worked at Vistakon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company to learn Supply Chain skills.

    Cons

Limited advancement, recognition and severe disconnect with workforce. Limited movement and opportunity for advancement due to biases. Limited openness to diversity and different thinking.

    Advice to Management

Take notice and find their integrity for recognition and awards. Rewarding poor performance sets a terrible precedence for the culture.

    Pros

It's a great place to work if you can thrive in ambiguity. Day to day interactions are pleasant. You have good bonus potential if you make quota across vast portfolio. Good benefits.

    Cons

Lack of continuity and consistency from corporate. It's run like a small company where corporate can be very hands on with customers with minimal communication to the TBM. Manager role seems more like a Team Leader. A lot of time spent doing manual labor with display kits and managing trials (samples). Extremely slow reporting makes it a bit tough for numbers driven, competitive TBMs to stay motivated. There is a new president, so things may change.

    Advice to Management

Get better and more timely data fast. Sales reps need to know where they are and where they're going. Spread the product launches out for better quality launches. More positive recognition is needed.

    Pros

Exciting New products, Flexible Work Environment, Patient Safety First Culture, Regulatory compliance is important to the culture, Very professional environment. Gives the ability to work independently and to get as more direction as you like. Does a great job of setting company business direction, goals and objectives. Also allows the individual to set their goals and objectives in light of the company's goals.

    Cons

Very political in terms of promotional practices. Tends to make people changes as the hiring manager prefers and lesser so on qualifications. Does not do a good job of promoting from within. If you do not plan on staying longer than 3 to 5 years, I see these as areas that can be overcome and would highly recommend this company.

    Advice to Management

Really look at your human talent and provide opportunities for advancement within the organization

    Pros

There are some good people who know what they are doing and are eager to show new hires and help them out. It will look good on your resume and hopefully you'll gain experience in your field.

    Cons

There is no room for mistakes! If you are temp and end up making mistakes because you're learning, they will not hire you on. People will blame things on you so watch your back! If you have a degree, take it somewhere where it will count!
