I have been working at Vitech Business Group

    Pros

The people are great, the culture is even better, and the owners truly care about the employees. Sometimes the work days are long, and the demand on you is high, but it's all worth it. There is truly a team atmosphere and everyone looks after each other.

    Cons

There really are no major cons to working here.

I worked at Vitech Business Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent coworkers and managers. Free bubbly water. Supportive environment.

    Cons

Billable hour quota is not for everyone, recently bought out by a larger company.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be present with your workforce through the transition.

I worked at Vitech Business Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

-I spent 8 years at Vitech right out of college. I learned a lot in more areas than I could have imagined. -The best part about working here was the set of skills, lessons learned, and experience that I walked away with. All that have helped me in other aspects in my career in ways I couldn't have foreseen. -Casual atmosphere (almost to a fault) -Fun people -Travel opportunities to different areas. ...

    Cons

-At some point you either have to commit to being a lifetime consultant who travels and works irregular hours. Or you will hit the limit to how far you can rise up in the company. -Some would argue it's not the best job for people with families. It's nearly impossible to have kids and have both parents working due to irregular schedule. -You learn one way to do things. The Vitech way. That's a good and bad thing...

I worked at Vitech Business Group

    Pros

A lot of my coworkers were great people, which is true anywhere. The clients I got to work with were impressive, even if the work wasn't. The work I did at Vitech added a number of bullets to my resume. I'm thankful for the lessons learned, the people I met and the experience I gained to get a better job elsewhere.

    Cons

The work is completely uninspiring. You are programming solely in T-SQL. For warehouse systems. For an analog screen the size of a child's palm. Every minute of your day needs to be logged manually by you in a home grown digital log book because Vitech hasn't learned about Agile yet. They have no version control. If you think their outdated, unresponsive website is indicative of the technology they sell, the culture...

    Advice to Management

Cultivate a company culture that likes change, innovation and hiring based on skill instead of familial relation. Seek out constructive criticism from your team and listen to it. Get version control. Update your website. Stop asking your employees to log every minute of their day. Support your employees in their pursuits of more education.

I have been working at Vitech Business Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

If you want to live in Belligham this is a great place to work. We are continually growing, adding new clients and employees. It's a good work culture. We all work really hard and have nerf gun fights to relieve stress. The owners care about their employees and your always welcome to stop and talk with them. The projects are always changing and so it keeps you interested.

    Cons

The hours can sometimes be long sometimes, but this comes with growing pains.

I have been working at Vitech Business Group for less than a year

    Pros

We have an amazing group of enthusiastic and entrepreneurial minded individuals that enjoy work and the value of having a life outside of the office. Work life balance here is unlike any other company I have worked for and the ability to actually make a difference is encouraged and supported by leadership. Work hours and dress code is flexible and they really do a good job a minimizing work travel whenever possible....

    Cons

Smaller companies are always going to be a little short on resources and sometimes you need to juggle a lot of moving parts. Leadership is very aware of the volume of opportunities they peruse and do a good job of keeping back the flood gates so that we are not overwhelmed. However, it can get a little crazy at times and be frustrating when there is a lot going on at once. But the great part about Vitech culture...

I have been working at Vitech Business Group full-time

    Pros

Vitech is a smaller company that is quickly growing. It still has the small-company vibe where you can go to the owners' office at any time and just chat about how your day is going. Bureaucracy is kept to a minimum - unlike larger workplaces, project managers try to keep meetings/documentation/calls/etc. down to a minimum so everyone can spend more time focusing on development and keeping projects moving. Another...

    Cons

Training can be frustrating, Vitech has a "Learn to swim by throwing you into the deep end" approach that isn't for everyone. There are some basic guidelines for coding standards, etc but a lot of times you will be asked to help out on a project with very little guidance and it's up to you to ask the right questions and hope you're doing things right. It is also a younger crowd, with most new hires coming straight...

I worked at Vitech Business Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Skilled employees, great ambitions in a company that's going places. It's encouraging to work at a place where they really want to give their customers the best they can. They're the most killed in their industry (trust me, I've seen their competitor's work, and it's sloppy). Benefit's package demonstrates thoughtfulness in terms of value and usefulness to the perspective of the employee. That means it's worth something...

    Cons

Operational managers are horribly dishonest and will through you under the bus, just because they're busy. They are passive aggressive and will lie to your face. The frat-boy environment is dysfunctional. Beer and women is a favoured subject. If you work here, you should have their values, or you will not fit in. They look their football too. I do not appreciate the back-stabbing I've suffered. Hard work is not recognized,...

    Advice to Management

Fire your "best" employees and managers. I promise you, that's what you need to do. I can promise you that there's good thought behind this. I know it's going to be hard, but think about how good it would be for them. Think of how good it will be for you.
