    I worked at Vivint full-time

    Pros

Vivint is the leader in technology for the security and smart home industry. It is a very rapidly growing company. The benefits to employees are good if you are willing to put in the work and deal with very frequent change.

    Cons

Everything in the company changes very frequently - fleet vehicles, how work is dispatched, technician software, and product. There are also frequent changes in management at all levels, and when management changes people are let go.
The demands on the technicians and managers are much greater than at other home security companies and can cause undue stress to the employee.

    Advice to Management

Learn to value "tribal knowledge" instead of turning over your long term employees.

I have been working at Vivint full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is not bad. Upper management seems to work work with you well if you act like you care about your job. Company vehicle gas card cell phone and iPad. As of right now hours are 8-4 Monday through Friday.

    Cons

Some expectations are unreal. Setting up work orders are done improperly. Direct management is under pressure to perform and the force that on is with write ups for every little thing. The equipment we are installing doesn't always work right and there are conditions for it to work that customers don't like. A big downer is no unpaid time off. You have to use your PTO which is only accrued month to month. We are encouraged to not work off the clock but it requires you to if you want to be good at what you do. I am constantly a top performer but I am considering other employment due to the every day feeling of not being good enough and the lack of care to the unfair metrics that get us in trouble for things we don't have control over.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. Make them feel a part of a team. Make things right when they are wrong or at least don't punish us and grade us in things we don't have control over.

I have been working at Vivint part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The supervising staff is very pleasant and helpful and it's a physically comfortable office environment.

    Cons

The overall atmosphere is extremely unfriendly, especially to people over 35. I'd say it'd probably be a lot better for someone younger, college age. However, even most older employees are cold. The last job I worked at there were at least 15 people who introduced themselves, no one does that here. Having a life outside of Vivint helps but I'm still stuck here a good share of my day for now. Won't be staying. The starting pay is awfully low, it should be a good 3-4 dollars an hour higher.
