I have been working at Vocalocity full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Talented IT professionals to work with.
    - Autonomy in exploring/choosing technologies.
    - Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

    - This review is done way after Vocalocity was acquired by Vonage, so unfortunately, Vocalocity no longer exists.

I worked at Vocalocity full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Young environment, lots of energy, room for advancement, entry into the IT space, $28-$30K base salary, inside sales experience

    Cons

employee turnover, upper manager politics, rednecks, Marietta, the Vonage sales process, commission

    Advice to Management

Upper management is a good ole boy network. They hire and promote friends from previous jobs.

I worked at Vocalocity full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

AMAZING company culture, great training, supportive management

    Cons

150-200 cold calls a day and I mean COLD calls.
Location has SO much traffic it's unreal. I lived 6 miles away and commuted 2+ hours a day from Decatur.

    Advice to Management

Chill out on metrics. Its about quality not quantity. 70-100 calls a day is still high activity.

    Pros

Casual environment, friendly people, fantastic location, great benefits

    Cons

Moving in June (possible locations mentioned are not ideal). Work from Home is looked down upon in my department, despite being one of the key factors mentioned in the hiring process

I have been working at Vocalocity full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Young fun work environment
    No dress code
Razor scooters are all around the office to get from place to place

    Cons

    Below average salary
Management is more reactive than proactive
Sales promotions change every week and it seems very unorganized

I worked at Vocalocity full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Relaxed environment and young culture.

Strong customer service and focus on providing a valuable product to customers, customer education and fair pricing.

    Cons

Occasional power struggle between departments to own specific functions/decision making needs of the business.

Working remotely became a bit taboo towards the end of my time at the company, which to me seems counterintuitive to a virtual technology provider.

The tension between executives was also regularly noticeable and contagious.

I worked at Vocalocity full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, matching 401k, fun people to work with, relaxed dress code, great opportunity to make a lot of money in sales.

    Cons

Big brother atmosphere, monitor everything you do - like if you get up from your desk for any reason, call center type atmosphere, raise quota every few months, hierarchy ranking, you are competing agains your coworkers, cut throat, no transparency between upper management and sales team, managers will be young with no former management experience.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to make the sales department like the Boiler Room.

I have been working at Vocalocity full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

work with a lot of great people, achievable goals, good incentives to get the job done, rewards and aknowledgement for a job well done, casual work environment while still working hard, fun work related events, can work from home on wednesdays

    Cons

Would love to meet other people in the company and take a tour of the Customer Service side. It would be nice to put faces to the names of a lot of the other people we work with.

    Advice to Management

I think management (especially my managers) are doing a good job. I know my manager looks out for our well being, checks on us regularly, doesnt mind answering questions even if dumb, and is not intimidating to talk to.

    Cons

Low annual raises. executive management brings their own people while laying off current well performing employees.

    Advice to Management

Focus on core product. do not get bog down in small pet projects like Salesforce.
