I have been working at Vollrath full-time for less than a year

    Pros

In the co-op program, you are given a great deal of autonomy and a major project or two to work on early on. I enjoyed my time on my first co-op so much, that I came back for a second one. After college, I applied and was hired on once there was an opening. The benefits and compensation are quite competitive, and there is a massive emphasis put on life beyond work.

    Cons

During the busy season, things can get pretty crazy.

I have been working at Vollrath full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic as best as could be expected considering the food service and hospitality industry took a huge hit. Supported working from home and made it possible where it could, managed temporarily layoffs, early retirements, project reassignments and permanent layoffs. While we lost too many great coworkers, the company CEO had biweekly company status meetings to explain where we were in sales and what our focus was.

    Cons

Lack of training on some of the most simple processes. Change process is difficult to navigate and JDE system is hard to understand. There has been little to no training on either system that some of us use every day and no one else understands to even ask for help. Seems like everyone does their own thing and no standard place for work instructions. Every department is in their own silo and has gotten worse over the years. Now there are even silos within departments. After the work from home, we really need some more culture initiatives reinforced, especially now that teams are looking different with all the personnel and reorganization. Wish we had clearer communication on who has taken over what responsibilities.

I worked at Vollrath full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good benefits, a lot of nice people/coworkers.

    Cons

Low wages, no one had time to train for this position so it took way more time and effort to figure it all out, no overtime or additional training was offered. Eventually I requested to leave

I have been working at Vollrath full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Focused on family and allows for flexibility with kids and life. Big cultural initiative to make it an even better place to work. Good pay and benefits with onsite clinic. The best part about Vollrath is that you become part of the team from day 1 and everyone is eager to see you succeed and learn throughout your career. Folks here are more than willing to offer up their expertise to better you personally and professionally. There is a lot of heritage with this company and the pride is easily noticeable no matter which department you are in.

    Cons

With any job there are cons but they tend to be more personal in nature so my biases should not sway your own personal feelings on different aspects of the job. The only way you would know this is to be in a specific position and develop your own opinion. Get expectations up front and look at the pros list as an upside.

I have been working at Vollrath full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I work in the accounting department - have had good opportunities and exposure to upper management. If I am interested in projects, I've been able to get involved. The work environment is supportive and friendly. Management has been promoting within - three internal promotions happened recently as there was turn over in the department. The turn over got rid of some bad attitudes and some actually moved to other opportunities in the company. The culture is improving as the company is implementing a new culture initiative, but it wasn't that bad before - now you just see a few more people being deliberate about it. Overall, this is a good place to come and work every day. There are opportunities to work on projects, there's a continuous improvement mentality as the team always looks for better ways of accomplishing things, and there's a good work life balance.

    Cons

Nothing significant to highlight as a Con.
