I have been working at Volt Information Sciences as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing I can see or experience

    Cons

Everything...especially slow processing, no systematic work procedure, no support of employees whatsoever. Absolutely zero benefits. Only 6 paid federal holidays with 13-week working requirement. If you are a contractor with Volt customer, who essentially pays your salary, expect no HR service, no benefits, extremely slow process (e.g. address change, insurance registration, etc), no support when you need personal business

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Field staff is friendly

    Cons

The organization is struggling to survive. They do not have a value proposition to offer clients to differentiate from competitors. Prior executive leadership was more in tune with the field staff. Current executive leadership is not trusted by field staff.

    Advice to Management

Move on, bring back some some of the old management team mixed with some new management from competitors.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I met a lot of great people, but that is the extent of anything good within this company

    Cons

Too many changes with organizational restructure. Reactive instead of proactive. Minimal incentives for employees. Very low morale. Extremely low pay. Does not take care of their employees unless they are Sr. Leadership or above. Would never work for this company again.

    Advice to Management

Hard to give advice, as management is constantly changing.

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

None; they can't even pay you on time. They do nothing right, and they seem proud of their incompetence; there is literally no redeeming quality to Volt.

    Cons

Literally everything; it took a month to get my first check, their website is flat out garbage, support is non existent. They do nothing. No, that's not true, if they did nothing at least they wouldn't be as aggravating.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some managers are great, there used to be great advancement opportunities, and the job was generally very easy. It could get busy but the job was still very easy.

    Cons

"Lateral promotions" (promotions without pay increase)
Poor management of IT/ERP, constant delays or unresponsiveness. The entire company is basically at the mercy of ERP which is completely backwards in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

Outsource ERP or find new leadership, focus on paying the hard working and talented employees fairly instead of letting them quit and then hiring ppl that are desperate for a job.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time

    Pros

The people you work with are the best thing about Volt.

    Cons

Low pay, no stability, poor leadership, no investment in future of company

    Advice to Management

Let go of the past and finally get rid of all of the leaders that got Volt into this situation in the first place, as they are not the ones that will get you out of it.

    Pros

A solid start in recruiting career if you have no clue!

    Cons

Will not recommend anyone to work in house. Attrition is high.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get paid, that's it.

    Cons

I was hired on for $13.50/hour and I ended up only receiving $12.50/hour. The client site had the worst equipment for training, it's so detrimental to training when you are troubleshooting every 5-10 minutes. Concentrix, the site I was at, is very disorganized, on top of training on inferior equipment our trainer was given all the wrong curriculum, grinding the lessons almost to a halt, and she even received the wrong roster for our class. God help you if you lock yourself out of their Windows login, because it takes a week for them to reset your password since there is no one on site that can do this. Also, if you work at Concentrix at 5 am, do not count on being able to get in, your badge only works after 6 and the security guard will not let you in.

    Advice to Management

Fix everything I mentioned above, make a clear plan on what employees who are getting layoffs do with your equipment, there was no organization over where to turn in headphones on my last day.

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

None. If I could give zero stars I would. The only pro is that you can collect a paycheck weekly and get some holiday pay eventually.

    Cons

Poor pay, no raises, no vacation, poor management and no opportunities for growth. No opportunity for permanent placement. You will retain temp status long term.

    Advice to Management

    Offer Benefits

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Pay was Ok. There is plenty of parking. Reasonably good facilities. Many employees were nice. Lower level staff worked hard.

    Cons

Pay for many people was substandard and consequently quality of staff suffered. Senior management did not know what they did not know. Old fashioned thinking.

    Advice to Management

You need to pay well to attract quality employees who can do more than be spreadsheet jockeys. Have managers manage, and not do original work. Benefits are embarrassing.
