I worked at Volt Information Sciences part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people you work with are really awesome.

    Cons

They are a temp to hire company for Pace Americas, which you will not be hired on to unless you give your 2 week notice.

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the recruiters are friendly in the beginning.

    Cons

This company does not care about it's employees. They send you to a job and give you a job description, and when you get there, it is a completely different scenario. They only care about getting the contract and not it's employees. The setup for direct deposit is ridiculous. They claim to mail checks on a certain day, but it takes almost a week before you receive a check. I suggest anyone taking on a contract with this company, be aware of the lies and the run around!

    Advice to Management

Tell people the truth and care about your employees!

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The staff was helpful with a W2 issue and was very hands-off as long as the client was/is happy.

    Cons

I will not work for Volt again. The rate that was discussed was not the rate printed on the contract. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until after signing. I was told that I would make the quoted rate after my first year with the client... which didn't happen. Year two was still under what was quoted.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to me. I am a professional and I expected you to be one as well. You may have made more from me on the initial contract, but you will not get any further business from or with me.

    None whatsoever
They're luck to even have this review

    Cons

Volt set their standard too high for little pay. Come on... They have a lead tech position starting at $20/hour but required a Bachelor degree. Bachelor degree should be paying $30/hour if not more. I have an AS in Computer science and I'm making $22/hour for a tech job.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to pay their employees for what they are worth.

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None, only if it is your only option. There is no sense of support. Last I checked they were a service company where the clients actually provide all their revenue but they treat their people like they don't exist and we should feel privileged to be a part, couldn't be farther from the truth

    Cons

Too many to list. Everything the company does is for the wrong reason, see pros above. I would look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Remember where you came from, how you got where you are and who is responsible for your success or lack there of.

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company has undergone recent organizational changes and is taking extreme measures to turn the company around. It's nice to see actual steps being taken to save the company.

    Cons

Unfortunately, these measures have resulted in hundreds of layoffs. It's too little too late. The pay is considerably low and next to impossible to progress your career and pay.
