I worked at Volt Information Sciences (Less than a year)

    Pros

they seem to know "who is hiring" for some decent contracts.

    Cons

Volt on eastcoast completely reformatted & revised content of my resume for a great AT&T Wireless opening on the west coast. When I looked at it later, it was full of mistakes, words/phrases that didn't even make sense.

    Advice to Management

be careful about presenting candidates with slick reformatted resumes for jobs without sufficient time for Volt AND candidates to seriously proofread their "improved" resumees

I worked at Volt Information Sciences (More than a year)

    Pros

Comraderie. I truly miss everyone there

    Cons

Stress level. There was too much work for how many people there were at the time.

    Advice to Management

Reward your good employees . That was the only thing i saw that was lacking when I was there. I really have nothing bad to say about the company. It seems to be doing great now.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences (More than a year)

    Pros

The position gave you the freedom and opportunity to do what was necessary to get the job done.

    Cons

Being an On-Site was difficult because you felt you were on an island at times. It was hard communicating with management and you felt indispensable at times due to the break and lack of communication with management team.

    Advice to Management

Communicate more to your team that isn’t on-site. Understand they work incredibly hard and they are a voice of the company you don’t always hear but should try hard to do so.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Quick/easy placement, decent starting wage, weekly pay, options of placement

    Cons

Unfulfilled promises, little-to-no assistance on the 'temp to hire' promise, no support with movement, no option to switch projects, horrible health insurance options, no time off whatsoever

    Advice to Management

You need to form better contracts with your projects to protect employees when it comes time to be brought on as permanent (if part of the contract). Start offering better health insurance- I'm still uninsured (as of my last day with the company), and the plans offered were overpriced/underwhelming. Paid holidays and some semblance of paid time off built up would be beautiful, since the project has nothing to do with it directly.
