I have been working at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The staffing industry is a great place to be- the work is very rewarding. My experience so far (nearly a year with the company) has shown me that Volt is staffed by generally very good people who want to help others. Obviously the company is not perfect, but our CEO seems to be taking things in a positive direction, our office (at my location, at least) is very diverse, and at the end of the day, we help people find work!

    Cons

The starting pay is kind of low for most entry-level people in my division of the company, so I would love to see that improve.

    Advice to Management

As a member of leadership, I would say that the most important things to do are to stay committed to diversity (not just different genders, ethnicities, etc. but also different perspectives and ideas), and to keep your staff feeling appreciated and engaged.

    Pros

Recruiters, salary, communication of recruiting and actual place of employment, length of contracts, training and learning for advancement tools.

    Cons

Location of offices, renewal of contracts, length of contracts, lack of benefits, hours of operation, advancement opportunity.

    Advice to Management

I had a difficult time getting through on the phone and getting a call back at times. It would be nice to have more communication on a bi-weekly basis about assignment and future possibilities of advancement

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have really enjoyed working as a contractor for the Volt/VMC consulting company. In my region, my project managers are good to work with, the pay is reasonable, and they are accommodating when you need it, but it depends on who your client is.

    Cons

Would like more push back to the client for flexible working schedule.

    Advice to Management

    None
