I have been working at Volt Information Sciences full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great training, people are treated fairly and decent pay for the job.

    Cons

hour inflexibility and insufficient amenities. For a company that has over 250 working, the break room won't fit 20 people.

    Advice to Management

You are doing what you can, and doing a great job. I believe that the building that the site is located at makes things difficult to work in.

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences full-time

    Pros

    An ok paycheck
Half the people at the company are decent and tolerable people.
    Nice office space in Uniondale.

    Cons

As soon as new upper management (the Jersey boys) came in and took over, it has been downhill all the way. The people in charge of accounting in the NY office are complete dopes. One person in upper management thinks sitting in the office until midnight screwing around on her Apple computer not even doing work and just putting in face time makes her look good. Rumor has it she's secretly dating a certain executive who will not be named here, but that would explain her not being canned a long time ago.
Be prepared to work round the clock if you work in accounting. Well, either you will be crushed with a large volume of actual work that other people will later take credit for or you can sit there and screw around on your Apple computer playing games pretending to do work. Either way, you're in for a long night almost every night.
Crappiest health insurance ever. Basic coverage is awful.
And the person in charge of personnel should have retired 50 years ago. She's a clueless dinosaur way past her prime.

    Advice to Management

    Fire yourselves.

I have been working at Volt Information Sciences full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The staffing industry is a great place to be- the work is very rewarding. My experience so far (nearly a year with the company) has shown me that Volt is staffed by generally very good people who want to help others. Obviously the company is not perfect, but our CEO seems to be taking things in a positive direction, our office (at my location, at least) is very diverse, and at the end of the day, we help people find work!

    Cons

The starting pay is kind of low for most entry-level people in my division of the company, so I would love to see that improve.

    Advice to Management

As a member of leadership, I would say that the most important things to do are to stay committed to diversity (not just different genders, ethnicities, etc. but also different perspectives and ideas), and to keep your staff feeling appreciated and engaged.

I worked at Volt Information Sciences full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You get paid, that's it.

    Cons

I was hired on for $13.50/hour and I ended up only receiving $12.50/hour. The client site had the worst equipment for training, it's so detrimental to training when you are troubleshooting every 5-10 minutes. Concentrix, the site I was at, is very disorganized, on top of training on inferior equipment our trainer was given all the wrong curriculum, grinding the lessons almost to a halt, and she even received the wrong roster for our class. God help you if you lock yourself out of their Windows login, because it takes a week for them to reset your password since there is no one on site that can do this. Also, if you work at Concentrix at 5 am, do not count on being able to get in, your badge only works after 6 and the security guard will not let you in.

    Advice to Management

Fix everything I mentioned above, make a clear plan on what employees who are getting layoffs do with your equipment, there was no organization over where to turn in headphones on my last day.
