I worked at Volt full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Allowed to work on projects with lead approval.

    Cons

Remote team was not brought into the fold as the in-house staff was. Felt very isolated and not part of the team at all, just left out.

    Advice to Management

Don't fire someone when they are literally in the hospital seeking care for an attempted suicide. Not cool.

    Pros

As a temp agency, it's decent, just not long term.

    Cons

It's a staffing company that cares more about their customers satisfaction than contractors.

I worked at Volt (Less than a year)

    Pros

Perfect opportunity to gain experience especially at an entry level. You will learn a lot about the recruiting field while in the role.

    Cons

Totally underpaid while overworked especially salaried employees. No bonuses are offered except a commission check which is not worth offering employees.

    Advice to Management

With the amount of work required, all non management positions should be hourly because the amount of work is not worth the compensation. All employees should receive a profit sharing bonus especially with the large client contracts they receive.

I worked at Volt full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A place to learn your first lessons on handling technical issues and using your knowledge of the mobile devices and Mac platforms.

A place to polish your customer service skills

A chance at rising to higher levels within Apple if you spend about a year or so here to get to start applying for higher departments

    Cons

Much to be learned yet due to the high volume of customers you'll have your hands full providing customer support on a wide variety of Apple products.
It would be nice to get more training done before the launch of the OSX and IOS software becomes available to the public. I've had conversations with a customer before describing updates to certain features in the software that I was unaware about and that are already available to them and this was something rather embarrassing.

Another thing, would be breaks you normally get an hour lunch or so at most places, here you get two 15 min breaks and a 30 min break for lunch. I personally didn't like it that way but there's that.

    also unpaid vacation time off.

    Advice to Management

I wish there were something I could say to management to make the environment a healthy much more happier place to work at. But their hands are tied since those who contract with Apple tend to be okay with employee retention not being a big deal. Since they pay the bills and it's hard as it is to make a buck in the field here in town. We're supposed to be the first line of defense on trouble shooting and yet, we get treated with the least respect both the management to the advisers. I get we're not an Apple campus but we're the first respondents on line with the customer.
