I worked at Vostu full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked with a small team, but very productive and fast. We had skills that complimented each other and we were able to work well together. I learned different things from other teammates and gotten experience through working; all in all, things were fun, engaging, and great.

    Cons

I hadn't had a chance to work at Vostu for very long due to the company's financial instability in the American department over in New York City. The group was small and the subsidiary company was still new, so we weren't able to yet discover our "footing" or "rhythm" by this point.

    Advice to Management

I have no actual advice because the American subsidiary closed down.

    Pros

I loved to work there, but unfortunately, the company broke.

    Cons

Bad management. One day, the company was fine, and the next one, it was broke.

    Advice to Management

Make better decisions with the company's money

I worked at Vostu full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best benefits ever! Lunch, drinks, snaks, ping-pong and videogames, parking, happy hours... Really good people, with strong technical knowledge. Very nice offices, in one of the most beautifull places in Buenos Aires.

    Cons

It was like a balloon. When ir exploded, nothing remained. Too many managers per team. Company communication is one of the worst i have ever experienced. Some guys in the top management where not prepeared to drive a company like Vostu and took very bad decitions.

    Advice to Management

Please, take a moment to think a little bit more...

I worked at Vostu full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Enthusiastic people; good office perks (although they cut them down a lot); informal culture; salaries; incredible potential; opportunity to reach millions of players; key player in Brazil; cool offices.

    Cons

Management's arrogance; unrealistic objectives; lack of mid-term planning; inexperienced managers making decisions as if the company made anything but games; location (Puerto Madero, a beautiful but unreachable place); long hours; poor people skills; no idea about games (and no interest to learn).

    Advice to Management

There aren't too many advices left to give, since the previous management was fired (along with around 500 people) and now the company is run by a small team that at least knows how to make games.

I worked at Vostu full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Excellent benefits
    * A few very good leaders
    * Short and fast development cycles
    * Working in a growing industry

    Cons

    * Unexperienced management who didn't trust the team's decisions
    * Backlash from management's early decisions (see Zynga vs Vostu)
    * Aggressive infighting in management and between studios

    Advice to Management

Maybe its too late now, but hire people with actual game development skills to manage your teams and trust their decisions.

I worked at Vostu full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Relaxed, professional, avg salary, benefits.
Usually everybody is pretty laid back but focused on the work at the same time. Pretty young company with lots of opportunities !
The games are usually fun, and its cool to work side by side with the artists.

    Cons

If you are a developer or QA , you probably work long hours, but then you usually get that same time off some other day. So this may not be for everyone
Sometimes it can be pretty stressful not a lot of room for mistakes.

    Pros

A lot of learning and a challenging place to work more than your specific position. Its good to start and learn

    Cons

You don't have a real carreer plan, you are stuck in your position and sometimes everything gets very very burochartic

    Advice to Management

If you want that people stay at vostu, start thinking on them. Offer real carreers and compesations programs, give some incentives to keep working.

Great people, unrestricted food and great ideas flowing.

    Cons

You got fired because of managment errors and not your own competence.

    Advice to Management

Be more prudent on your next steps.
