      Pros

Amazing Management Team, High positive turnover (promotions), keen focus on development, very strong growth orientation (M&As, talent acquisition, new technologies), extremely stable and no threat of layoffs ever, great benefits package

      Cons

Base pays can sometimes be below industry standard.

      BETTER THAN AVERAGE COMPANY

Sep 20, 2021 - Member Relationship Specialist in Jacksonville, FL
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

No shortage of work. Coworkers were the best, and very supportive. Decent annual bonus structure. Lots of room for advancement. Decent 401k. Pay can be quite decent with time/promotion.

      Cons

The company switched its focus from its members (customers) and employees to sales. You will wear many hats, and there is no let-up in the volume. That creates anxiety and stress among its employees.

Do your job and you'll get rewarded

Aug 21, 2021 - Personal Banker in Gainesville, FL

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Company appreciation tokens - No commission pressure (you still have goals) - Decent hours - Really cares about members, no scammy practices. - Opportunities for advancement after a couple of years - If you get along with your co-workers it can be fun.

      Cons

      - Difficult giving bad news to members - We should have had time off when decade long employee who trained everyone suddenly passed away (at least the Saturday, which is only a few hours, for the funeral). Didn't seem like the company cared much in other ways because before that she was fired for something stupid, and was rehired as a lower level employee despite giving her life to the company. Would not work here long term for that reason. - There are favorites like with any job - You feel guilty asking for time off because they are under staffed and it hurts the branch when you are gone. - Training is too long - Doing call center work in the branch while members are waiting is poor customer service and looks bad. Not to mention I didn't sign up for call center work because I hate it. The call center is understaffed. - Not consistently answering the front desk phone for members. - Cubicles in some older branches instead of an office is very poor privacy for members and awkward for employees. - Taking full blown car applications at the teller line is a poor member experience as well. Being able to do all things (teller, banker, front desk) seems like a good idea but it's poorly executed. - No specific time allotted to do desk work like follow-ups, voicemail, email checks ect. You just have to squeeze it in somewhere. - Instead of managers yelling at you for not meeting goals or a pat on the back for meeting them they should be doing sales and customer relations training everyday.

      COVID, COVID, COVID

      Sep 5, 2021 - Customer Relationship Advocate

      Pros

My coworkers and generally nice members. Work is interesting.

      Cons

So many COVID cases that put strain on everyone. Please close lobbies, make customers wear masks and require the vaccine. Jacksonville is the epicenter of COVID in the US and in Florida. VyStar needs to take steps to protect employees in a high touch environment. Cash, forms, etc, I am not the only one that feels this way. Be a leader. TD is doing something. If you care, show you are concerned about our safety versus offending certain members. And why are restaurants and stores paying more now than us. Ally is advertising $20 an hour. Options for promotions are zero these days. All the money seems to go to our home office.

Horrible place to work and horrible bosses

      Business Outlook

      Pros

There are no pros to this company.

      Cons

Managers don’t do anything. Management isn't trained properly, gossiping and bullying through out the whole company, they don't accommodate people with disabilities, work life balance is not real there, stress put on your back, very hostile work environment, managers play each other against everyone. The push big numbers but don’t pay for it.
