I worked at VyStar Credit Union full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People, locations, and opportunities to advance.

    Cons

    No overtime available at headquarters.

I have been working at VyStar Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Yearly bonus and raises, decently priced medical insurance. Depending on who your boss is, they actually care about you as a person and not just an employee.

    Cons

No maternity leave, you're forced to use all your PTO and FMLA. So, pray you or the baby don't get sick when you go back to work. You can get written up because they don't allow time off without using PTO or FMLA.

    Advice to Management

There really needs to be a change with this policy. Putting any newborn in daycare, they are going to get sick. It's just a matter of time.

I have been working at VyStar Credit Union full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Higher pay than other credit unions, benefits are sufficient

    Cons

Management says open door policy but when you voice an opinion, it doesn't make a difference. If you have an issue with something, you get the boot rather than encouragement and support. It seems that squeaky wheels get replaced rather than get oil. HR is pure terrible. They schedule interviews and don't show up but have other HR personnel fill in, they don't inform you, ever, when you are not selected for an internal position. You find that you didn't get a job you interview for by finding out through hearsay who actually got it. The people they do select have less credentials than other applicants. People advance by who they know, not their training, experience or college degree.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your loyal, strong employees and promote from within. Support your people instead of making them feel unwanted. Hire capable managers and supervisors and weed out the friends looking out for friends. There are long time employees that are looking to advance their careers and diversify knowledge and can't get a fair opportunity. HR: send an email to applicants asap to inform of position decisions. And hire fairly.

I worked at VyStar Credit Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is higher than most call center positions available.

    Cons

They state there is an open door policy, but it’s not true.
After a few weeks of training with support, they moved you immediately to the floor with minimum or no support.
