I have been working at VyStar Credit Union part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great to get your feet wet in the financial world.

    Cons

Over 40 branches, no two branches are the same one branch will allow one thing while another won't. This allows mistakes and when these mistakes are performed the whole credit union is punished.

    Advice to Management

Help employees grow to your position don't be selfish with your knowledge.

I have been working at VyStar Credit Union full-time

    Pros

competitive compensation, good benefits, open and caring management, flexible with time off, internal promotions, realistic goals (yearly payout for achieving)

    Cons

some outdated policies, short 30 minute lunch break, no lunch break on Saturday's (7 hr shift), more consistency across departments/branches

    Advice to Management

Update some outdated policies. For example: really consider Saturday lunches, we shouldn't have to leave work starving. More consistency; for example: branch employees have just recently been allowed jeans on Fri/Sat, when back office has been able to for the longest time.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Decent benefits, stable company. Normal business hours.

    Cons

The company is poorly structured and does not value its employees. They preach company "values" that are selectively enforced or not at all. Branches are constantly understaffed. Expectations are not communicated well and upper management has no idea about the front line of the business. Horrible and biased incentives. Nearly impossible to take time off. HR is ineffective and unprofessional. Negative work environment.

I worked at VyStar Credit Union full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CEO of the company is AMAZING. Will learn a lot about the VyStar brand and how to apply these vision and values to your everyday life.

    Cons

Senior Leadership is the worst. In order to get promoted to the next level you have to be "liked". Sadly, in this environment it's not what you know, it's who you know.

    Advice to Management

Not that they'll listen anyway but, why not try living by those very same vision and values. The favorites will always be the favorites and there's nothing you or anyone else can do about it.
