I have been working at W. P. Carey full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Smart, collaborative colleagues from the senior team all the way through the company. Many opportunities for career development for those who seek it out. Ability to work closely with committed people who care about each other and who care about the company. Every year has brought new challenges and opportunities.

    Cons

Last year was a time of transition for the company, which was difficult at times.

    Pros

Out of control - nepotism...Dimmest bulb the most lit...climb the ladder with your name...WP Carey...

    Cons

Hard work to no avail unless of course...

    Advice to Management

Read your own business plan...interest rates rising...handwriting's on the wall

    Pros

Great benefits and friendly place. Small teams with many hats. Scope to grow and learn. Convenient location to commute. Many luncheon lessons regarding health , wellness for employees

    Cons

Things are slow to change. Company culture not technology savvy. Shrugging responsibility to others, no accountability. Flat Management structure, no vertical growth

    Advice to Management

More budgets to update to latest technology

    I worked at W. P. Carey full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Incredibly smart people, diversified vision/portfolio of products. Really good benefits as far as medical. Contributes to the community through their Carey Forward initiative. Not as high stress as most Wall Street finance firms.

    Cons

Bonuses and base pay on the lower side. Change in leadership has taken a step backwards as far as innovation. Likely that the great benefits will be taken away piecemeal, as has been the trend over the past 3 years.

    Advice to Management

Lower headcount not recommended given the complexity of the business.

I have been working at W. P. Carey full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, work is interesting. Company is a leader in its industry and employees feel proud about that. New systems being put in place should ultimately have a positive result on workload and processes.

    Cons

Management is completely disconnected with the rest of its employees. New management that has been brought in over the last few years is trying to redefine the company and its culture. No value for the long history of success. Ridiculous expectations being set in accounting and IS departments.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring all new people and firing those who have worked hard to build company.

I have been working at W. P. Carey full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

New CFO with great leadership and vision for change.

    Cons

Old boys club enviornment will take time for real changes to be implemented.

    Advice to Management

Seek advice of employees, both new and old to understand the issues within the company and across departments, as there are many areas to improve.

    I worked at W. P. Carey full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits (in the looooooong run). If you can tolerate being another suit in a ship full of Borg.

    Cons

The entire office culture is based on white, uptight, frat boys from family connections, stuffy Arian from Darien clubs and socialite wannabes with little to no intellectual curiosity to navigate real world business.

    Advice to Management

Add mandatory diversity training to all levels of employees, including the Board and Executive Committee. The old fogey stogie era is over...it's time to get with the new. The CEO is yet another relative of William P. Carey.

    Advice to Management
