    I have been working at W. R. Grace full-time

    Pros

Great health insurance, dental, and vision packages. Matched 401K. Company offers very competitive hourly and salary positions. Safety is important and not taken lightly.

    Cons

There is lack of decision making at the most basic level and communication among co-workers is often missing. Decisions are almost always spur-of-the-moment.

    Advice to Management

It is important to make sure that employees are happy and satisfied to stay productive. It would be nice if employees had more of a decision on everyday work functions.

I have been working at W. R. Grace full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Business and employment levels stay strong despite economic conditions. That has been the case for over 20 years. One of few companies with a retirement plan and 401k.

    Cons

Probably the worst first-level supervisors since I've been employed there. Seems to be a high turnover there and it just seems to get worse. It seems as though the product is man made gold, which will sell no matter how incompetent the decision making on the floor.

    Advice to Management

    Pay to retain your talent.

I have been working at W. R. Grace full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Interesting projects - very international - opportunities to learn new things - culturally very diverse - great people - teamwork focused

    Cons

Benefits are average - healthcare is expensive for a so-so plan - work- life balance is poor - need to work a lot of evenings and weekends - under-resourced (even before spin activities) and a lot of micro- managing from the top

    Advice to Management

people are exhausted - back off on the micro- managing and let them work - we are under-resourced and it seems to need constant reminders. The work is interesting, the teamwork is strong, but right now the volume us out of control.
