    Pros

The pay is good, and you are protected by a union depending where your plant is located.

    Cons

There was a hiring freeze in place and the plants are so small they cannot afford to train and advance within the company if you are not management level.

I have been working at W. R. Grace & Co. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Second largest cracking catalyst company in the world. Good benefits with a pension and 401k matching up to 6%. Full insurance options health, dental, and vision. Competitive salaries and steady employment.

    Cons

Company priorities have shifted in the 10 years I have been with the company. The facility I work at advancement has seen new management bought in from outside the company than promoting from within. Twenty years behind in technology expenditures. Slow to replace personnel placing additional work load on those having to cover that department. Having to go to corporate for permission just to hire employees.

    Advice to Management

To corporate, allow your plant managers to do the hiring. To plant management hold your employees responsible for their actions don't treat employees like kids. We are all adults and want to be treated that way.

    Cons

Constantly in a state of flux. Too many reorganizations and layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on how to have real growth rather than constant reorganzations
