    I worked at W.W. Grainger full-time

    Pros

    They do a lot of activities for their employees but you never have time to do them with the work load.

    Cons

    -Poor Management even some who sexually harass their employees. It gets reported and HR turns their heads about it.
    -All they care about is numbers. They shove numbers down your throat constantly.
    -Major Favoritism
    -Grainger doesn’t care about their customers like they use to.

    Lot's of responsibility. Lot's of flexibility. Great pay, awesome benefits.

    Cons

    Must be self starter!!! If you aren't don't even consider it. This is your business.

    Advice to Management

    Zoro is a pain!

    Monday through Friday work week, Expansive product offerings

    Cons

    Customer service is not at the core of the business model. Mediocre customer service is the norm and management is ok with this approach.

    Advice to Management

    Understand that customer service and front line employee drive profits.

    You have the ability to learn how to manage a large group of people in a fast paced work environment. There is a lot of opportunity for innovation.

    Cons

    Work life balance is lacking. There is no structured training plan for new managers. There are a lot of moving parts which make it difficult to find autonomy.
