I worked at WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation) part-time

    Pros

As a part time employee and still being a student while my employment at WARF, they worked very well with me when scheduling hours and were extremely flexible. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Not to much of a strict corporate feel but because they have plenty of assets tied in with UW Madison, it is a very stable work place

    Cons

The corporate office and event management office is in separate locations which creates a small division

I have been working at WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation) part-time

    Pros

Excellent people to work with, often not terribly challenging, flexible scheduling.

    Cons

Physical labor can get pretty intense at points, shifts often go into overtime.

    Advice to Management

Maybe compensate workers for additional work completed for which the Union didn't show up.

I worked at WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation) as an intern

    Pros

They have a wide range of internships and are great at supporting them and trusting them, and they offer a decent hourly pay for student interns.

    Cons

Not a lot of full-time job prospects for interns.

I worked at WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation) as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing staff - I always felt incredibly supported by my direct supervisors and everyone else on the team. The staff is knowledgeable, fun, supportive and creative.

    Cons

This comes with a large intern team all on different, part-time schedules, so it's not exclusive to WARF, but it was sometimes hard to know what all was going on if you weren't able to make the weekly check-in meetings.

I worked at WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation) as an intern

    Pros

Very nice and intelligent people with lots of opportunities to make a difference in the community.

    Cons

The culture and people seemed to be a bit removed from the mission and need to connect more with the community.

    Advice to Management

Hire more interns and have staff be more welcoming to them. Continue doing the great program work at the WID.

    Pros

Great chance to learn while still in school, very warm environment, lots of cool people with great experience from around different industries

    Cons

Can get mundane at times, different groups within the company tend to stick to themselves as far as the interns are concerned

    Advice to Management

    More jeans days

    Pros

Very competitive hourly pay for interns, with very good networking opportunities. Work directly with areas of interest, develop professional connections.

    Cons

Multiple sites in Madison, occasional need to move back and forth between the two. Working in conjunction with other UW-Madison and private entities, divisions in work/funding/responsibilities sometimes blurred, leading to difficult situations.

I have been working at WARF (Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation) full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful place to work in regards to the estetics. Good management, people friendly environment.

    Cons

Intern pay is a little low for engineers, but the experience you gain can make up for it in some ways.
