I worked at WCA Waste full-time

    Pros

Pros would be the benefits - medical at a decent rate and you get to drink last Friday of the month with the executive leadership team for "team building purposes" in the executive lounge.

    Cons

Cons to working for a very unstructured company are to hire people that are going to do their jobs not just for title sake - the executive leadership team is highly disconnected from the facts, instead of investigating why employees are disgruntled and apply corrective action, training or a proper investigation they are then sabotaged out and the issues continue. There is an obvious pattern and culture to keep your head down to avoid issues so you don't get fired. Employees from mid management down are expected to do the job of 2 or 3 people while some do nothing but dictate and take credit for others work. By far the worst professional experience of my career -

    Advice to Management

Clean house, start with the highly unethical, unprofessional HR team and executives - they are blinded by bonuses and look out only for themselves.

I worked at WCA Waste full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

All of the front line employees are great people.

    Cons

Upper management cannot make up their minds on policies. One day we are to limit the trash, then the next day take it all. All of the customers become extremely frustrated and confused. They have come into town thinking they could do things their way, and have run a very good company into the ground.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what you really want before making policies. When you flip flop the customers and employees lose all faith in your ability to provide a simple service.

    Pros

Office team members are very helpful.

    Cons

Many challenges. The company is growing, however still stuck in antiquated sales methodology. The Regional Sales Manager was very abusive, using threatening tactics to "motivate" team. Little or no respect for work life balance.

    Advice to Management

Invest in leadership for the sales team.

I worked at WCA Waste full-time

    Pros

    Some good colleagues, fair salary.

    Cons

Total lack of structure, organization. Roles are not clearly defined, all sales positions crossover. Constant missed pickups or missed deliveries. This was a regular issue, many times including the same customers on consecutive service days. Lack of inventory (dumpsters) so sales could not be made in a timely fashion.

Really big warning flag here! You do not want to work here.

    Advice to Management

Define roles, be honest with employees about service issues, be honest with employees about inventory issues. Clear communication and structure need a massive overhaul.

I worked at WCA Waste full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are not many pros to speak of, however traveling the filed and closing sales was very rewarding and accomplishing

    Cons

The level of professionalism in the branch office as well as upper management was vacillating. Lack of direction, pricing structures changing and very high turn over. Condescending abusive emails from sales manager directed with threats towards his employees

    Advice to Management

Please look closely @ how you are hiring to manage areas and how they treat their "teams" . Sales is hired to bring in sales with the help of the company they represent. Lack of communication and abusive threats are @ best the result of poor management
