I have been working at WDRB FOX 41 full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

All around pleasant work environment. People are all helpful and positive. No inter departmental bickering. Everyone works together as a team.

    Cons

Sometimes baffling hiring choices lead to people who should not be there getting jobs.

    Advice to Management

More transparency from mid level managers

    I worked at WDRB FOX 41 full-time

    Pros

    Free tickets to special events

    Cons

Poor management decisions regarding hiring, firing, rewarding, compensating, benefits, etc. Good people leave due to these factors. Promises made and not kept. Employees bullied into voting it's a great place to work. HaHa! The culture of this company is to openly and publicly embarass employees. Very cut-throat and cold-hearted atmosphere. Sad stories and often made into jokes and the list goes on. Do yourself a favor, keep looking.

    Advice to Management

Stop allowing the middle school behavior to continue and reward your employees accordingly in order to keep them. Don't exploit them.

  3. "Poisonous work environment where employees are intimidated into saying 'WDRB' is a good place to work. Look into it."

    Pros

There are some talented, good hearted people here.

    Cons

Low pay, no bonuses, decreasing benefits. The cars in the employee parking lot speak volumes about the lifestyles of the employees. From the top down, the old school, unconscious leadership style does not consider the needs of the employees. Very negative, frustrating atmosphere in most departments company-wide. Racial, homophobic and sexually inappropriate jokes are accepted as commonplace. There is a culture of backstabbing and 'reporting' on each other to keep everyone in fear and in line. There is no interest in employee feedback, constructive criticism or freedom to make a complaint. Seriously take the time to 'off the record' talk to the employees if you are thinking of working here.

    Advice to Management

It cannot feel good to be in management for this company. Speak up. Do the right thing.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at WDRB FOX 41 part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team in almost every department has a synthesis and professionalism that shows based upon the happiness and productivity of its employees.

    Cons

Part-time employees get the short end of the stick.

    Advice to Management

Offer full time openings to long time part timers. There is real talent employed within your own ranks.

    Pros

Really welcoming people there. Doors are open to speak to anyone in any position in the building. People willing to help. Have chance to bring ideas to the table.

    Cons

Work hours can shift many times. Presentation is just that, presentation. Some employees may talk about terrible things behind your back and create a stressful atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

A more constructive problem solving outlook when any kind of problem arises. Find individual talents with people. Ask employees questions with learning attitude.

I worked at WDRB FOX 41 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent health benefits; sales & administration (only) gets off holidays and weekends.

    Cons

100% lack of professionalism, severe micromanagement, no growth opportunities, gross underpayment for most non-commission employees

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with dignity and respect (like you claim your "culture" endeavors to do) & stop taking advantage of the true hardworkers just to keep your image up.

    Pros

I would say it was a very postive experience for the most part. Good General Manager.

    Cons

High paced very stressful environment. I really don't have anything negative to say other than the pay is lower than expected.

    Advice to Management

No real advice, the management is exceptional and lead in a manner conducive to all involved. Upper management is exceptional
