    Pros

Paid travel and accommodations; different job location everyday; company provided transportation to and from job site; advancement opportunities; production based wage increasements; hiring bonus; paid weekly

    Cons

Constant changing work schedule with little to no notice; poor communication from upper management; variable shift hours- some shifts are 3hrs, 6hrs, or 9hrs depending on staffing; poor scheduling of staff based on needs by upper mgmt; low moral; no voice; feel as if there is little to no support from upper mgmt as a Supervisor or counter; no actual training period provided- 1-4hr session with trainer then once on job crew expected to train and count reducing their overall productivity and ensuring mgmt involvement; no official recurring day off per week- may work 3 days then day off or work 11 days straight

    Go work somewhere else

Jun 8, 2021 - Inventory Supervisor in San Antonio, TX
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

If you can count/do math and walk, they will likely hire you. I can only recommend this if you have nowhere else to go. If you show up on time and can do the job well enough with a somewhat positive attitude, they might make you supervisor.

    Cons

This is a slave wage job. Hours/pay will vary greatly depending on the season and where they stick you. Workday hours can last as little as 2 hours to as long as 16 hours with a 30 minute break in between. Hours week to week tend to vary between 20 to 70 hours. The equipment for the job tends to be old and worn out, often failing/crashing during a job. Getting a count done on time, heavily depends on the crew you are assigned. If you have a good DM, they will assign you a good crew that works efficiently. If not, you're on your own. When people don't show up, there is nothing you can do except hope that you can finish at a reasonable time. If you absolutely need a job and no one else will take you, work here just long enough until the next job comes. A job like this can and should be performed by robots. No human should have to do this.

    Overworked and underpaid

Apr 8, 2021 - Supervisor in Charleston, WV
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Call off anytime you want, paycheck available weekly, build friendships with coworkers.

    Cons

Uniforms, severely underpaid in general, entry level employees in KY make more than level 3 supervisors in WV, corporate took away a recent pay bump for all employees without notice, drivers lost $3 pay raise- not worth the responsibility, new people quit due to work strain, mentally/physically exhausting, wake up commonly at (1am-4am), jobs have lasted over 15 hours (24+ hours for drivers) and you are expected to work until counting is completed, constant out of state trips and overnights, must roommate with coworker at hotels or pay for your own room, transportation is unsanitary- seats are filthy- trash is always on the floor, supervisors spend more time training people who end up quitting 1-6 weeks into the job instead of contributing to job completion, new people verbally disrespect management and still have a job, constant turnover makes job stressful for loyal employees, never know when you will be home, not for parents with young kids (unpredictable work hours), jobs are not guaranteed and are subject to change so forget making plans outside work, hardly home, no meaningful work experience, no advancement opportunities except for select few (not a good long term career choice), constant stress, lots of drama, not recommended for people who expect a consistent schedule or professionalism or for anyone with standards.
