I worked at WME part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fantastic exposure and a great educational experience on the inner workings of an agency.

    Cons

Too many interns. It was next to impossible to make a connection with an agent.

    Advice to Management

Hire fewer interns so there's less competition just to deliver mail.

  4. "Good overview of the entertainment industry"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Former Intern - Summer Intern in Beverly Hills, CA

I worked at WME for less than a year

    Pros

Learned a lot about the different departments of talent agencies and the industry as a whole, especially through a speaker series with agents and through shadowing assistants.

    Cons

The rest of the time was spent in the mailroom which can get kind of boring. You'll get out of it what you put in.

I worked at WME for less than a year

    Pros

    - great connections / contacts to be made - access to exclusive industry-related weekly job list postings - opportunity to be hired full-time - self-motivated & proactive people will thrive in this fast-paced work environment and prepare you for general assistant-type duties & task - helps you to work on your communication/interpersonal relationship skills and office etiquette - good inside look into the business of entertainment across an array of platforms, which helps you to narrow down your own passions, your ideal career path, and discover where your personal strengths/weaknesses lie.

    Cons

    - unpaid internship (this might've changed in recent years) - gossip-heavy, and often judgemental, work environment - competitive/manipulative and catty fellow interns trying to be the "top dog" - very little support from your superiors with harsh rules to abide by - intern must have thick skin and be extremely proactive & resourceful to complete given tasks with very little instruction/prior training. self learning and research is a must.

    Advice to Management

more training, work advice, and work/progress evaluations would've been helpful.

I worked at WME for less than a year

    Pros

Some of the best and brightest in the business

    Cons

Departments were quite silo'd from one another, making for difficult communication at times

    Advice to Management

Create an internship program that gives students a real look at the business as opposed to an experience comprised of grunt work alone.
