I have been working at WPX Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Energetic and passionate team committed to doing the best for the company, community, and environment. We are given most of the resources we need to perform our very best and those that do the best seem to be rewarded

    Cons

Old habits die hard. In a rapidly changing environment individuals, teams, and managers can change from pioneers to roadblocks. Navigating this fact and staying relevant is difficult and often left up to you to figure out

    Advice to Management

Keep working hard to be number 1 in the company and in the basin

I have been working at WPX Energy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

For the most part good people work there. CEO is a true leader and has admirable traits. He's leading the company in the right direction.

    Cons

Incompetence is rewarded. New leaders in HR and IT lack skill and qualifications to do their jobs. They were promoted due to cronyism. Lower level employees, the worker bees, are the ones with the real talent. Employee morale is low as a result.

    Advice to Management

Take a close look at how the HR and IT leadership has been put into place. Cronyism exists across both organizations

    Pros

Flexible, making the right changes in today's price environment, decent pay, great retirement benefits, solid new leadership in CEO and COO

    Cons

There is significant change going on at WPX, while these changes are necessary it would behoove management to make these transitions as smooth as possible for existing employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep the changes coming. WPX can become a major player with this new direction.
