I have been working at WS Packaging Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people to work with, small team environment works well. Multiple locations are opportunities for transfer if desired.

    Cons

Rapid change of executives multiple times always followed with a rapid adjustment of goals and priorities without time to evaluate the current situation. Long-term, very experienced employees not valued for their contributions become a casualty of the rapid change environment. Training is not a priority - they have great tools that no one is trained to use and they are not willing to pay for adequate training (this is...

    Advice to Management

Invest in Training - Value Experience and Willingness to push for advancements of technology and procedures. If you are not going to train your employees adequately to exploit the advantages of the new equipment/resources - you might as well not buy the equipment/resources.

I have been working at WS Packaging Group

    Pros

Work life balance Coworkers Commute Workspace

    Cons

JW Childs, our private equity owners, hired two arrogant morons to lead our company last year. The CEO is as approachable as barbed wire with the business insight of a coma patient (which matches his commitment to the company) and the "new" CAO (HR Leader) has openly said he has no interest in HR and has single handedly (well, with the help of the coma patient) reduced any value that HR had. What does he do during his...

    Advice to Management

Turn back the clock and replace these guys you've brought in. They have hurt our morale and your investment!

I worked at WS Packaging Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Highly dedicated work force willing to do whatever is necessary to satisfy the customer. Vast decorating technology with a national presence and vast client network.

    Cons

Lack of leadership, direction, trust, integrity and moral compass. Core values diminished in exchange for a control and command leader, highly process driven (TPS/LEAN) when applied in the Danaher model undermining the core values instilled over the past 40 years of employee engagement and empowerment philosophy.

    Advice to Management

Get back to the grass roots level of the organization, learn the business and interact with the employees instead of applying the danaher lean philosophy of "dog eats dog".
