    Pros

High Quality Patient Care. Level 1 Trauma Center.

    Cons

High patient acuity. Occasionally low staffing. Must pay union dues even though the union does not fight for the best interest of the employees.

I worked at WVU Medicine full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits were great until they change the whole process. My co-workers were awesome, however everywhere you go there are good and bad ones.

    Cons

There were no opportunities for advancement, it was all about who you knew, and they picked a college football team over their employees. Parking SUCKS!

    Advice to Management

I have been working at WVU Medicine full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are really helpful. The benefits such as health insurance and retirement are good. The transition people try to give as much help as possible.

    Cons

The night shift workers seem to be overlooked more than day shift by management. The entire hospital is understaffed which leads to poor patient to caretaker ratios...especially for clinical associates. Management knows of this problem and has not done anything to fix the problem.

    Advice to Management

Listen to all your employees to get an idea of what is needed for the floor. Hire more employees and treat them with respect.

I have been working at WVU Medicine full-time

    Pros

Benefits are good, but that may change in near future.

    Cons

No position is safe. Since new senior management has taken over three years ago, multiple departments have struggled. The once "community feeling " hospital is turning into a cold-hearted corporate giant. Employees no longer matter. Current staff are all scared for their positions.

    Advice to Management

Start caring for the employees you have. They are the ones that have helped make the hospital what it is today.
