I have been working at Waitrose part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent initial training, on-the-job skills development, good range of competencies encouraged, good pay, satisfactory hours

    Cons

Changeable employee rotas mean sometimes employees are left on their own (chronic understaffing), little opportunity to progress, management don't always agree on processes

    Advice to Management

If you train a Partner to work in an area, let them work there. Standardise management policy to prevent confusion. Be stricter on Partners who are off sick without evidence.

    Pros

Fixed hours early or late shift, good pay with potential to increase hourly rate, and benefit with opportunities for a bonus

Change is hard with productivity not at the forefront of the ajenda and poor communication between shifts. Great offers on company benefits are sold out very quickly.

    Advice to Management

Be a more productive business with better communication. Create supervisory roles to bridge gap between partners and managers.
