I worked at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

great benefits, good hours. That's it.

    Cons

They do not care about the workers at all. We are over worked, under paid for the work that we do, and they look down on the house keepers when we are the ones keeping the hospital opened, if it weren't for us, everyone would be sick, infections would spread, and the hospital would be closed dow

    Advice to Management

Show more respect to your workers. Have fight for your workers. And stop being afraid to give them their raises as needed, for they work hard and earn every penny.

I worked at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Inexpensive health care, competitive benefits/time-off
    - Many active, interesting projects with potential industry and academic connections
    - Well funded

    Cons

    - I found the management style difficult to deal with. Swings from a complete lack of oversight to micro-management depending on the week and their focus at that moment
    - Management seems to be spread too thin to provide the necessary oversight
    - Pretty high turnover rate with engineering staff and support staff
    - Engineering staff is generally the bottom of the totem pole with no potential for upward mobility
    - Management definitely shows favoritism to individuals and projects, while others are more neglected

I worked at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

First class medical school and associated Baptist Hospital. Winston-Salem had a small town feel but big time ambitions. University and towns people universally friendly and helpful: cooperation rather than competition.

    Cons

Vision for growth somewhat flawed and execution of buildout of research park was slow to pick up inertia. Change of top university leadership contributed to a general lack of strategy and direction.

    Advice to Management
