I worked at WakeMed Health and Hospitals full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Decent coworkers. Fair health insurance and retirement. Physicians were good especially the critical care team. That's really all I have to say.more cons than pros.

    Cons

Management. Hostile, punitive culture. Some coworkers creating a hostile work environment and management. Management enables this toxicity. There are many more issues than the ones above.

I have been working at WakeMed Health and Hospitals

    Pros

They pay well and the discounts for being an employee.

    Cons

Leadership is corrupted. Cut-throat work environment. No real path for advancement. Work/life balance is out of balance. More work no life. Which is why everyone is so miserable. And you know what they say, misery loves company.

I have been working at WakeMed Health and Hospitals full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The hospital is, in itself, a good place to work. The CEO is trying to recover from the economic downturn, and the advent of the Affordable Care Act.

    Cons

The management of the Clinical Laboratory is guided by favoritism. Certain staff cause undue stress on peers causing a hostile work environment. Nursing received a major pay increase, while other staff received a minor wage "adjustment", while also adding that adjustment to nursing on top of their wage increase.
