    Cons

Company investment in itself and employees is unclear. There are good benefits, but also the sense that the budgets of service-providing teams stagnate or get cut before marketing budgets.

It's Really all about the numbers!

Dec 19, 2017 - Enrollment Advisor in Tempe, AZ

    Pros

With all jobs and with time the structure changes. At Walden the change was inevitable. The University in the past had awarded the enrollment advisors compensation for the number of enrollments they made since it technically is a sales position. There was no real strict script and no phone calls were recorded. You could be yourself more to engage potential students. Good health and dental benefits & 401K match.

    Cons

The company decided to change the verbiage the enrollments teams could use around after a company called Richardson did a training. This company has their own style of how to speak with potential clients. The job became very robotic and made it more difficult to focus on the important stuff like all the changes in the curriculums constantly. The managers would discuss your number of enrollments in private and push for higher numbers behind closed doors yet in the annual reviews nothing was mentioned regarding number of enrollments and the raises for the last 5 years of employment were cut by around 85%. You begin to feel like a slave for management and can't really understand the vague and somewhat fake evaluations. My particular manager was not very well liked by most the team and I ended up quitting due to her rudeness!!! Not a lot of room for advancement at a satellite office.
