I should have listened to the negative reviews on here before accepting the position
Apr 29, 2022 - Field Education Coordinator in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-got to work from home -received a paycheck -some coworkers were friendly, especially when you were all suffering together
Cons
-toxic environment -Walden is run more like a business than a school -No work/life balance -Constantly short staffed/high turnover -Micromanagement -Unrealistic work load leading to stress and burnout -Restrictive program policies that ultimately hinder students -As a result, having to be constantly berated by students via phone & email who are upset by these policies and the inefficiency of the office even though it’s the fault of leadership and not you (you’re essentially being set up to fail) -No accountability held by leadership. More times than not, students are having horrible experiences while Walden collects more of their money and boasts about education for good.

Globally aware company, Flexible work/life balance for most, great pay and benefits depending on what you're doing. Very community centered and well known in volunteer efforts and partnerships.
Cons
Pay and raises aren't reflective or talent. There are too many with talent who are getting the short end of the stick compared to others with less education, less time on the job and less accolades.

Pros
Good that I don’t work their anymore. Nothing more to share. Glassdoor stop asking me to write pro’s for this company.
Cons
Awful work hours. They treat you like SLAVES, for the money they offer you. No work life balance, you have to request to take days off, like whaaaatt? I earned that vacation.

Employees are not valued except as a means to an end.
Feb 9, 2015 - Nurse Field Education Coordinator in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The only good reason to work there is for the benefits and the occasional work from home day.
Cons
There is no work life balance. Leadership is oblivious to the volume of work and the amount of time it takes to accomplish tasks. They claim to care about students but really only care about the bottom line. Salary is low for this profession. Highly stressful.
