I have been working at Waldorf Astoria part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I love the ambiance, everyone is so welcoming and it's the reason why I've stayed with the company as long as I have. The pay is also great!

There can be some late nights - past 1 A.M

    Pros

It was an excellent learning experience, I was able to fully grasp the responsibilities of a billing coordinator.

    Cons

Unfortunately, they are closing for 2 + years for renovations due to new ownership. One issue that I brought to management's attention is the need to train others within the department in order to provide coverage when someone is out of the office.

I worked at Waldorf Astoria full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

In winter season there is a chance to make decent money. But lasts for 3 months.

    Cons

Parking in winter was terrible. Employees parking was on the hill. Dirt road turned into a ravine. Never plowed. Was impossible to drive there.

    Advice to Management

Build a convenient parking lot for employees so they don't have to stuck all the time leaving work. Especially it is inconvenient when employee finishes at 11 pm.in weather -1 in winter time I had to dig out my truck.

I worked at Waldorf Astoria full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good PTO, fun people to work with who are your age, substantial experience, adequate compensation

    Cons

Long hours (and by long I mean a minimum of 10 hours a day, most likely you'll be working 12), schedules change weekly meaning if you want just one weekend off (god forbid) you will have to work 10 days in a row just to get there, difficult union staff who are stuck in their old ways its impossible to make any change, rotating door of managers and directors which makes its hard to learn or adapt to any sort of culture or routine considering there is none, a mindless "management program" where you are working towards absolutely nothing, no reward and an even crappier position with terrible hours. Working hard for no reward.

    Advice to Management

Completely revamp your management style. Directors be more involved. Don't disappear for weeks at a time without checking in your managers. This entire building should be wiped from the ground up to have a new start.

I have been working at Waldorf Astoria full-time

    Pros

Strong compensation package but you have to negotiate!! Be sure to do your research on salaries in the city before you accept.

    Cons

Old building, old ways of thinking about things, dated technology. Senior leadership has experience but not strong education.

    Advice to Management

The property will undergo significant renovations. Discuss plans to renovate with all employees so they can plan their lives accordingly.
