I have been working at Walgreens part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

At Walgreens, you get to work in many different departments such as Photo, Cosmetics, and Front Cashier which keeps things interesting as you are doing different jobs. Manager worked with my schedule to allow me to have time off when I needed it. Good starting pay ($9) and every 6 months you are evaluated for a raise.

    Cons

At Walgreens, they require you to work every holiday, including holidays like Christmas Day and New Years Day when all other businesses are closed which makes it very busy. Shifts can be long with late night (3-12:30, 4-1AM).

I worked at Walgreens part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy to move up, and move around in departments.

    Cons

Boring work, but it was a high school/college job. What you'd expect from a customer service job.

    Advice to Management

Nothing, always liked all the managers I had.

I have been working at Walgreens part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Regular customers, feeling accomplished at the end of the day, easy job, doesn't require much brain power, time goes by quickly, love most of my co-workers

    Cons

My particular Walgreens has trouble keeping good employees, thus the old employees are stuck working understaffed shifts at the busiest Walgreens in our district. I always get told what I need to get done or what I did wrong and not acknowledged for things I fixed or worked hard on. My customer service has been complimented many times, even by our district manager, but store management has NEVER acknowledged it. I also get sick of working holidays and weekends. I'd like to see my family every now and again. Corporate also must have never worked actual retail because the things they decide to change really messes everything up for both customers and employees - thus, customers feel the need to complain to employees about things we can't control.

    Advice to Management

Remember who your loyal and hard-working employees are and be grateful for them.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The guests would definitely be the best experience, interactions between you and them and being able to help them out.

    Cons

Management is all over the place, one manager tells you one thing another manager gets you in trouble for doing what the other manager told you to do, just a wrecking ball disaster

    Advice to Management

Don't bring people on board if you're going to 🔥 them for following rules of another manager complete waste of everyone's time. Management get it together.

    Pros

    401K, 401K, 401K, 401K, 401K

    Cons

The company continually cuts hours, but adds more work that has to be completed during a certain time frame. It use to be a good company, now it doesn't matter what you do, it's never enough.

    Advice to Management

Find another job. Yours is next on the chopping block.
