I have been working at Walgreens part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lot of things to do so you stay busy. Walgreens does offer medical for you after 3 months. Flexible hours if you’ve been there for a while.

    Cons

Senior pharmacy techs don’t like to teach. Don’t feel like you’re growing most of the time or learning anything new. Practically have to beg to be shown something. Not a good thing.

    Advice to Management

Make sure before you promote people to be senior techs that they actually want to train other technicians instead of just wanting the pay raise.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be everything but since the Walgreens family sold out went down hill

    Cons

As a manager, you can't manage your team without repercussions. You have the responsibility to run your shift but the team members do whatever they want to. When you speak with upper management, your blamed for the situation.

    Advice to Management

Be fair across the board. Let managers manage and hold team members responsible for poor performance.

    - Great hours each week with nice schedule at this particular location.

    Cons

    - Very low pay in comparison to floor associate.
    - Poor maintenance of the store.
    - Communication between workers can sometimes feel lacking.

    Advice to Management

Spending more time speaking with associates will always yield useful information.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is always a lot to be done so expect to learn and help out in all departments. Expectations for store shift lead were clear and to the point, management would help clarify any issues you may have.

    Cons

For what is expected of you in this position they give you little to no power to do the job especially in regards to managing employees. If other management calls out expect to be working a double shift if no one else is willing to come in. Some store managers were impossible to deal with, some were fantastic though.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that your store managers are the right people for the job, they can literally make or break the store atmosphere.

    Pros

I was happy with the benefits that was provided with the job and the flexible hours and scheduling.

    Cons

I didn't not like the fact that the internship was not paid for.

    Advice to Management

I think that making the hours flexible and negotiable in very good for hiring.
