I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Consistent hours, flexible scheduling, 25% employee discount on store brand merchandise, workload is more or less an even distribution.

    Cons

Following the policy for checking ID makes you unpopular with your customers, to put it kindly, and most of the time, the management will not back you up or even ridicule you for following this; managers and employees alike don't take their job seriously, and prefer to do things easier rather than correctly. Customers can get away with almost anything, even stealing, because most of the time there's only one employee on the sales floor, and that is the cashier, who's not allowed to leave the front of the store during store hours.

    Advice to Management

Prioritize anti-theft measures, such as keeping other employees vigil and at hand on the sales floor, because theft hurts the consumers by driving up prices. Communication and consistency between shifts is key to making sure that the store is kept up. It doesn't make sense to do something if the person who changes shifts with you either didn't do their part or needless undoes everything you worked for, and that includes training and conditioning the employees to stay on task!
