I have been working at Walgreens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Depending on what store/area you work in, Walgreens can be a super fun job. They're very flexible about you picking up or dropping additional shifts in your own store, or at other locations. Good room for upward growth within the company and great learning opportunities to use with other careers.

    Cons

INSANELY corporate company. Tons of meaningless procedures and rules to follow that don't impact your day-to-day work in any way. Security is a joke, and this leads to very high amounts of theft. Overnight shift pay is not enough to be worth the longer hours and massive work load.

    Advice to Management

Raise pay rates for overnighters, shorten amount of days required to work per week, ensure that stores have some type of theft deterrent and your employees are safe

I have been working at Walgreens (Less than a year)

    Pros

    easy going, good benefits, structured.

    Cons

from the work load handed down by corperate, I doubt they have had to work an hourly position, they are either expecting too much of the staff, or simply not allowing us to schedule enough people to consistently meet demands of the job

    Advice to Management

schedule more people. give the store managers more hours, make sure equipment is working properly, and cut down on waste(Paper mostly)

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits (after a year of work) raises involved with promotions, easy to promote, good leadership, very simple

    Cons

Some bad fellow employees, quick turnover rate for managment, managers switch store all the time. Too focused on surveys instead of actual costumer care,

    Advice to Management

Be consistent and stand by the employees that work hard for you.

    Pros

Health, vision, and dental insurance for full time employment. Flexible hours for students or time off. Easy to learn and manage.

    Cons

Rude/entitled customers and high turn over with employees. Required to be able to work holidays because Walgreens NEVER closes or shortens hours unless in Pharmacy.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I loved my experience working at Walgreens. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing team and I made some lasting friendships while I was there. All of the store managers that I worked with were eager to help. I had to move to a different city for about a year and they were able to transfer me out to a local store without a decrease in pay so that I would still be employed with the company.

    Cons

I was told that there would be no chance of me getting a Team Lead/ Asst. Mgr position due to the fact that I "got along too well with everyone", however whenever they brought in new Leads and Management I was always asked to assist in training and frequently asked to do other lead/management tasks. The main reason I left. Pharmacy could never seem to stay fully staffed and it trickled over into other areas of the store.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay, you get paid for all the overtime you work and you will get ot. Healthcare benefits, and they pay for your pharmacy licensing.

    Cons

You might get one holiday off and it'll probably be Memorial Day. Babysitting adults. Way too many store goals to reach. Extremely overworked unless you work at a store that makes a lot of money. Then they give you labor hours like candy and you have the staff to even out the workload.

    Advice to Management

We have way too many tasks, too many numbers to meet. And we don't get big bonuses like mgt that actually do nothing but sit in an office from 9-5 everyday and get every holiday and weekend off. The asm's are the backbone of the store we maintain all of osa and customer plan and the upper management has lost touch with the stores they don't realize the huge workload that they put on the stores with minimal staffing, The store managers get all the credit for everything too. Our labor budgets don't reflect our store demand. (Like increased sales and customer count). The budgets should be adjusted for the current store needs not what was calibrated like 2 years ago when we weren't nearly as busy.
