I have been working at Walgreens part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible hours, friendly environment., Confortable.

    Cons

The staff I work with sometimes aren't friendly, I worked at 3 stores and they all have different effects with the environment and staff.

    Advice to Management

Ad tags are highly efficient if done Saturday Night 10pm-12am Monthly and 10pm-11pm Weekly.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The best part of having spent three years with this company is how much I have actually learned. Not only about Walgreens operations, but about the industry. When you work at the store level, you have a key part in setting your company ahead of the competition. If you are determined to learn all the information that is sent down, you can actually see the impact and understand the importance. This is probably true at a lot of places, but I feel Walgreens does exceptionally well at ensuring their employees are equipped with any and all information needed.

    Cons

Moving up seems difficult in most situations.

    Advice to Management

    None at the moment

I worked at Walgreens (More than a year)

    Pros

Walgreens is a great job to have while in school. They worked with my school and sport schedules. The job teaches responsibility, most stores are very on top of how they like things. Everyone is held accountable for their work.

    Cons

Management can be rude at times, but that's to be expected with any job. Was let go after a year and three months because of my "facing" one night. The reasoning given to me was because that had been the third time over the course of my being there that I had to be notified of my facing. With it being such a small part of the jon, it seems a little unfair to me.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Meeting new people, helping customers make healthy choices

    Cons

The company focuses a lot on the employee and the customer but not on mgmt, they will always side with the shareholder before taking into consideration their employees

    Advice to Management

Take care of your store leadership team - they are the ones doing the majority of the work. It is ok to ask your teams to be more efficient but not at the expense of employee and customer safety

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible Hours
    Great With college schedules
    management feels like family
new manage from bottom up strategy
    pto structure
    District Mangers are AWESOME

    Cons

if you need to transfer to a new store it can feel like a completely new job because of inconsistencies with in the company

    working holidays
    holiday pay structure
    did not receive adequate training
could be paid more based on job duties and stress
shift leads and asmt feel a lot of the stress, while they are the direct supervisors of floor employees they are not allowed to punish them if needed and have to hope store managers will take care of it, leaving the shift leads powerless during shifts when store manager is no present

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They pay pretty well with a high starting wage and frequent raises.
They're pretty flexible with your hours and availability.
You can get free, on the job pharmacy training and technician licensing.

    Cons

They're becoming more like Wal-Mart by micro managing everything.
There's no real discipline to people who really need it.
Opportunity for growth is a bit hard to come by unless you work really hard or you're there for a long time.

    Advice to Management

Don't reward bad employees and don't forget about the good ones. It's really easy to keep high morale.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are many pros, there are a lot of benefits such as: health plans, flu-shots, paid time off, and plenty of work to do.

    Cons

Politics can be an issue, like many other work places. Hours can be an issue sometimes, however the management tries their best to provide hours for everyone. The 90-Day policy can be frustrating, especially when it disqualifies you from bonus pay.

    Advice to Management

Keep providing a positive environment, and remember to treat the employees as well as the customer. The customer may or may not come back, same goes with employees.

    I worked at Walgreens part-time

    Pros

The head manager seemed to like me, at the time. Another one even bought me a soda once.

    Cons

All of the managers dodged questions about my paycheck, after I had gone months without being compensated before I finally quit. Other managers were rude, mean, vindictive, and threatening. Rules were not clearly stated. In order to keep us under 40 hours a week, managers would make us clock out yet keep us there for hours, unpaid, continuing to work.

    Advice to Management

I don't really have any. I guess I just worked for a bad store, which I see is under new management now.
