I have been working at Walgreens part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You earn time that turns into paid time off. They work with your schedule as a college student. Hours are respected and given to those who work.

    Cons

Management doesn't teach everything you need to know on time and expect you to do it yourself. The building is not always under OSHA regulations.

    Advice to Management

To be professional and avoid favoritism.

I have been working at Walgreens (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible when you have to take off and makeup the hours you missed. Competitive pay, when they had it. When you ring up a customer and they bought the 'hot' item, you get like 20 cents...it adds up.

    Cons

When they teach you something new, add on more responsibility but your not appreciated, or compensated for it. Two employees can make the same amount, but one is doing substantially more.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work life balance was great vs other retailers. Minimum weekends. Consistency in expectations of knowing what each day was going to bring.

    Cons

Change and devaluation of the store manager role through restructuring. Losing the entrepreneur spirit to shift to a stale same store approach.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget the entrepreneurial spirit that made it worth while.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Walgreens is a great company to work for. Hours are flexible, customers and patients are usually friendly, and there is a good work/life balance.

    Cons

Management could use more training on how to manage effectively.

    Advice to Management

It would be great if we were able to access our schedules via storenet from home. Having to wait for the schedule to be put out, sometimes not until the last minute it very inconvenient. No one wants to come to work on their day off just to get their schedule.
