I worked at Walgreens part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay. They show you how to do a lot of different things in the store. The customers are great.

    Cons

They don’t train well for your job. They give you a little training and through you on the floor expecting you to know everything.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time

    Pros

Very flexible hours. Less traffic than most large grocery/convenience retailers.

    Cons

Corporate is incredibly greedy and tries to really stretch workers to the bone. Since buying out Rite-Aid they lost their money and cut everyone’s hours to make up for it. And when customers started to complain about service going downhill local staff is blamed for it.

    Advice to Management

The cheesy stuff y'all have us do doesn't help and makes work harder.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time

    Pros

Consistent work, overtime and holiday pay opportunities depending on your location. Nice regular customers.

    Cons

Micromanagers worried about losing their job all the time; s*** constantly rolls downhill and if you’re caught being less than perfect, like 30 seconds over break time or chatting too much with customers they take it as an opportunity to feel less insecure and make you feel very insecure. Constant talking behind people’s back, forming prejudices and showing favoritism. The best workers say nothing and fall into the cracks really well.

    Advice to Management

You’re not helping by lowering morale and making everyone constantly sweat small things. Consider raising your employees morale and fostering their sense of well being and rather than stripping them of that through constant scrutiny and micromanagement. It isn’t good for the company, despite what you think.

There are no pros whatsoever unless you count a nervous breakdown as a pro.

Every single thing about the job. Everything.

    Advice to Management

Get a college degree, respect your pharmacists because without them Walgreens would not be a company and you would be eating government cheese.
